Hank, i appreciate these longer videos. Thanks for this and the previous leather videos. So I was in NYC, and i walk into a leather shop expecting to see belts and breifcases etc. Not really.

cool, glad you enjoyed it Gabriel (its really tough on all of us getting these videos done) back in the days in NYC there used to be a few leather craftsman, they probably mostly retired at this point unfortunately

Your work is astoundingly beautiful I really appreciate the fact that you came on to show people how to do this I personally used to do leather work and quit because of health reasons very beautiful work great detail

When I was a kid in the 50s we had no money so we used to make our own leather stamping tools from 16 penny common nails. By blunting the point and smoothing the top of the head. We would then cut designs into the top of the head using small metal files.

true Clint its a crazy amount of work...and that's without even building the rest of the holster...I'm gonna need one for a single action with a naked lady (as soon as I clear that with Lola)

I would think after all these years Hank's camera skills would have gotten better. I do like all the Andrews Leather videos though, I can't believe Sam doesn't do voice over work besides your videos, he's a natural!

truth be told Edward I hate the camera work and the editing lol so I refuse to get that much better...and yep totally agree with the voice over work we really need to get him some gigs in that direction...I appreciate you checking out these videos sir

When my house was robbed they took my tooled belt. Surprised the lowlife robber knew that it was something very expensive. Great video.

And you can only carve and tool vegetable-tanned leather, whitch is the oldest form of tanning hides, and takes weeks to do. The majority of modern leather is 'chrome-tanned', as used for garment leather, upolstery and the boot/shoe industries. But I Luvs ma veg-tanned!

how about the tanning process and what colors work best on what types of leather. can elephant hide be dyed green if not why not?

on one of your videos you mentioned starting with good quality leather. As a beginner, would you care to elaborate? Veg tan for tooling/moulding, but what thickness do you recommend? Do you recommend a particular leather distributor. Seems like there is quite the price difference between retailers. TIA.

I do leather work and tool pieces. I do not know what the product is worth. Time vs final cost of product. I do good work. I can make knives tomahawks powder horns leather pouches tool leather holsters etc. Build muzzleloaders everyone likes my work but no one. Makes any offers to purchase on
