It's nice to see a reviewer recognize that Victorinox scissors are superior. My first Leatherman was a Micra. But to have a multitool which main tool (scissors) gets totally humiliated by tiny Vic Classic SD scissors was unacceptable for me and I got rid of it. I carry a Manager too now.

Exactly...I've had 6 micras....took all of them apart...terrible scissors. Leatherman should be ashamed

I'm glad you showed how the Bond looks with the pocket clip. It adds a bit of bulk, if not weight, and takes away from the clean, streamlined look.

I have 3 rebars, 2 waves, and 1 bond I never use. I just feel the bond loses an ounce or two but loses more in utility compared to the rebar. I’m a rebar fan all day. And it’s only marginally more expensive for a tool that will outlive you

Same thing with the skeletool, if it had scissors and the hammer mod by default it would be perfect. Or add in a nail file!

Easy...a sak in the other pocket. You also get tweezers, toothpick, corckscrew, etc.

I'd really like to see a video on how you got the truss style bit driver kit from Leatherman (the one that fits on the Rebar), to fit on the Free P2/4? I got slightly envious when I saw that mod 😆

Yeah, this is the 1 thing that would make the Rebar the best multitool for me. Hopefully Leatherman will add it or at least give us a similar tool, with similar tools, being able to add a 1/4 bit adapter, 3D phillips and have a pocket clip, with these similar smooth scales. I would be extremely happy with either.

Hello there pal may i ask you a quick question would you say that the Leatherman curl is UK ligel EDC as well the same as the Leatherman bond with the non locking mechanisms???? Love your videos thanks 👍🏻

very nice overview! i'm looking for my first multitool, but i don't know which one to pick. urban EDC setting and occasional hiking, i'm not a mechanic and always have some kind of victorinox with me. pliers is a must/just in case, other than this, i don't know what to look for. candidates are the bond, wingman, skeletool (might be expensive) and squirt ps4. can you recommend one since you seem to have a lot of experience with leathermans? thank you in advance

If the skeletool is expensive..but you always carry something like a 58mm vic...I think the next question is if you need a 1 handed blade. I would recommend not limiting yourself by cost...better to save and get the right thing.

@@maxlvledc thanks for the reply, i appreciate it. i hope you don'T mind me adding a little background. i always carry a victorinox classic sd on my keychain because of the nailfile and the scissors. i can edc a victorinox spartan because it is office-friendly. i also have a swisschamp but i never use it, bit clumsy to me. on a hike/bushcraft i carry a victorinox forester and a dedicated bushcraft knife (beginner). it's funny, but i rarely need a blade in the urban/office setting, which is not the case for tools. there's always a screw that need tightening, a bottle to be opened, etc. but none of the above have a proper plier, which can be usefule no matter where i am. i can afford any model, however, i'm a total noob/beginner and i just dont want to buy an expensive thing that i can't even use due to my inexperience. furthermore, it's always a nice feeling when you can actually use a utility tool. since then i watched more videos and i'm getting to biased towards the squirt ps4. i am more likely to carry it due to its size, you know, a just in case tool. ps: sorry about the long reply.

@@maxlvledc thanks. actually, i'm from europe, so prices and use cases are a bit different for me. i rarely fly and even when i do, i carry as few and inexpensive items as i can, i just don't want them to be confiscated by some eager beaver or somebody not knowing/sharing clear restrictions. i think i go with the squirt first and when i found out my needs/use cases, i might go for a big boi like a rebar.

Yes, it's not a QC issue, it's a design flaws. Which means they all have it.

They do suck, but this gentlemen makes wrenches to disassemble them. www.etsy.com/shop/lokimobile?ref=nla_listing_details He makes + shaped ones that will do every Leatherman tool that has that type of fastener, but they are out of stock right now.

What I don’t get is this looks so much like their older models like the PST and such yet when they re-released them they were as much or more than the Wave? Yet these Bonds are pretty well priced, that’s confusing. And I’m trying to work out what’s the best Leatherman for the money, the Sidekick, Wingman, Rebar or this? (And I’ve seen that the Rebar without a blade is actually more expensive? I don’t know how that works.) I want to try other brands like Gerber, Victorinox and Sog. I also really want a good One handed opening multi tool for a good price (wish they did this in the Bond.)

Hmm, well Leatherman warranty is unbeatable...but don't buy a multitool and use a budget as a reason to choose one thing or another.. get the right tool for you.

Besides your idea to put a saw and scissors in I'd be tempted to swap the knife for a file and just carry a separate knife, a knife I can open one handed... that makes for a pretty thin light tool kit with a pocket clip I'd actually use.
