This was like a minimalist multi-tool. It doesn't quite have the toolset of the Pocket Survival Tool but its a lot better than just carrying around a pocket knife. I love my Pocket Survival Tool, Kick and Rev because of their simplicity. I love my Original Wave too for a bit more selection but for me I like the basics.

@@txtoolcrib, absolutely! Simple, working things are the best the industry can give us. It's funny and regrettable that models like BLAST and FUSE that are even better than KICK are no longer being produced. In my opinion, a more comfortable handle is an excellent idea that one day can be included in the idea of a supertool! P.S. I received my KICK, which i sharpened, tested it and even cut myself - so everything is fine! :)

Lent my kick to someone, came back with a snapped plier! Was a great tool for 12 years. Was using it daily on the farm. Only other damage was i snapped the end of the 1/8 flat screwdriver. I also liked the size and comfort. Keen to find a good replacement.

У мене питання щодо цього инструменту- чи можна становити у нього інструменти із Supertool 300? Вони сумісні, чи не підійдуть? А також, чи можливо встановити їх із Supertool 300 у Fuse або Blast?

I got one of these years ago for next to nothing at a 2nd hand sale. Not really used it much, but it's interesting in it's simplicity. I should probs leave it in the car in the boot or something, just in case.

Another great review, Ben! I have a Core, and I like it. The Kick does not interest me that much, to be honest. I'll grab one if I find a good deal, but I am not seeking it out. Have you seen the Ganzo multi-tools? Most come with a hex bit adapter, and it fits the square shank Phillips of Leatherman and Gerber multi-tools. Some people buy them just for the bit kit, and use it with a Rebar, MP400 etc. It even fits on other brand multi-tools, like Workpro, Roxon, CRKT, and more. They made a version for Gerber, just the same adapter with "Gerber" engraved on the side. It would be interesting to see you review a Ganzo, like a 202 or 302, which are higher quality than their cheap offerings.

I will have to look into them. I have never owned a Ganzo before.

The Zytel line was a curious move for Leatherman, in my opinion. I thought they solved the hotspot problem of the PST and PSTII with the Pulse. In fact, I think my Pulse is more comfortable than my Blast. It's noteworthy that they dropped the Zytel inserts and went back to rounded edges with the Rebar. Granted, the locking mechanism on the Pulse and Supertool 200 was functional, but not great -- but I thought the Zytel attempted to fix a problem that had already been fixed.
@txtoolcrib
@txtoolcrib 4 жыл бұрын
I never EDC'd one of the models with the Zytel inserts. Not really sure how they held up over time. I do think the way they make them today is better, but for it's time it was an improvement.

Perhaps the only thing I can say I absolutely do not like about my Rebar is that one of the "tools" is a freaking lanyard loop! THAT ISN'T A TOOL! The person that came up with that idea is however... lol I just feel like a pocket clip or lanyard loop are acceptable as add-ons to buy separately, but that tool slot should go to something more useful. Anything would have been better than a lanyard loop. That being said, I'm begrudgingly using the lanyard loop with a suspension clip because I have no other option as far as pocket clips are concerned.

@bilakos1987

I removed the lanyard loop and put a Wingman package opener in its place. I still have a lanyard, a thin string looped around the washer between the can opener and Phillips.
@DefMunkyYT
@DefMunkyYT 4 жыл бұрын
Look up "suspension clip" in Amazon. It will keep it from going to the bottom of the pocket and you can pull it out with the clip. It also keeps it from sitting flat on the bottom of a belt pouch when I wear one, I just clip it to the side inside the pouch and it stays upright, and I can just pull it out with the clip without having to fish for it.
@txtoolcrib
@txtoolcrib 4 жыл бұрын
I wish they would get rid of the lanyard loops entirely, unless they are implemented like the Wave and Surge. But I'm probably in the minority on that one.
@DefMunkyYT
@DefMunkyYT 4 жыл бұрын
I think most want the option, but I don't think you're in the minority of not wanting it in the actual tool selection.
