/ revhiker www.amazon.com/shop/revhiker Quick review of the Leatherman Rev with comparison to a generic multi tool. The rev is a great value, the other multi-tool is cheap.

I love my Rev. The only complaint is the knife whole is in the wrong spot, they should have put it further up, like on the wingman and sidekick. Besides that, it's a great multi tool. Love it.

I have to agree with you. Leatherman is one of the best brand in the industry.

Thanks for the review. I carry my Rev almost every day. It has been through a lot of abuses and hard work, and it is still like brand new. I love it, and I must admit I don't understant bad criticisms about it around there... Keep up the good work !

I am 60 years old. Have my first western blade to this day 42 years later. Still use it. My gerber multitool is at least 30 years old. No issues. My leatherman is only about 10 years old. Bottom line, buy quality. That would be American made. Oops. I forgot Swiss army knives, and Swedish mora knives. Other than that buy American. LOL. Great video. I'm sorry, I just buy a lot of knives. Peace.

***** Gerber is no more 100% american - owned by finnish Fiskars, made in China...
@elkhunter86649 жыл бұрын
rrreger Aware of that. Don't buy them anymore. I believe I stated my last was 30 years ago. Buck, and Bear and Sons still make some great American made knives, along with many others companies. Just a personal decision. As John Campbell states below, I buy tools for a lifetime. Peace.

I'm a firm believer in the 'buy it for life' mindset. Buy it once, and pay for the best value you can find. It's much less expense in the long term that way. Most of my gear and tools are 25+ years old. I bought the stuff when I was a 20-something struggling parent, and it hurt me to finance the stuff then. Now, I'm reaping the rewards of that investment. Thanks for the great videos, by the way :D

John Campbell Thanks John. There are many things that are worth investing in. Tools are certainly one of them. Thanks for watching

Ive had pliers wiggle on one of two Wingmans that I bought, I dont find this to be an issue, the play was little and so far has not impacted overall usability. Its not slightly bigger, but still within acceptable tolerances in book ;)! Perhaps due to diferent build, pliers in Rev have no wiggle due to jaws closing behind each other, so thus making it impossible to wiggle to the left or right. Waiting for Rev to be available for 20$ shipped worlwide. 25$ max.
@RevHiker9 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Might be a while until the price comes that low.

I own a Wingman and a Rev and the pliers on the Rev just feel so much sturdier to me. And for $20, i don't feel bad beating it all day.

Is this tool worth getting for $23 Canadian or should I save up and wait to get a wingman (currently sold out at $30 Canadian)
@RevHiker8 жыл бұрын
They are pretty similar...but generally speaking, you should get the best you can afford. If you can swing the 30, go for the wingman...it has a couple more tools

I love your vids, but honestly, just buy a Leatherman kick. Say whatever you want about its larger size, or it non excesible blades, but I realise its got the wave plier head. Sorry I'm just super annoyed they discontinued the fuse, kick and blast
@marktong67556 жыл бұрын
And it's got the actual good tools

I have two Leatherman the supertool 300 and a wave I like them a lot I have also a Gerber multi tool its ok I do not like the way the pliers pull out. I also have a cheaper "Winchester" branded multitool which i ok too.the only tool in that one that sucks is the Saw/ruler/file all in one tool.

Winchester is Gerber's lower end brand. You either love or hate the slideout pliers, Leatherman has the rights now.

...and...seven years later... they're making knife attachments that fully deploy the blade when it's pulled from the pocket. Fate: Accidents happen.
