The same with me. I have Squirt (bigger and more sturdy blade as Victorinox 58mm blades! 👍🏻) And I have Victorinox Signature Lite. I am thinking to purchase Rambler and to change scales from my white translucent Signature Lite. As a result, I will get white translucent Victorinox Midnight Manager and usual red Classic SD. I like Victorinox scissors better, as Leathermans scissors. Since I carry Squirt and Signature Lite as a keychain tool, my bigger Victorinix knife most of time rests in my backpack pocket.

For people with an electronics hobby, the small pliers are incredibly handy 👍😆

I carry rambler all the time folks, but when its come for fishing, i would carry multitool with multiplier, its all depend on your need ! Everyone edc tool is different based on their daily usage tool and work 😆

I also have Squirt and 58mm Victorinox Signature Lire (=The Victorinox Classic SD without twezers+ LED and pen). They are my keychain tools. I also have used Squirt's pliers only one time. But Squirts knife blade is more sturdy and is more valid for heavy jobs. I have used Squirts screwdriwers to assemble IKEA'S furniture- it worked very well. I like Squirts file to file my finger nails- ir is better as Vic;s nail file. But Vic's Signature Lite ir better scissors for my finger nails. Somtimes I also use Vic's pen and LED light- excellent. That small light has helped me in some situations. Vic's Signature Lite has not bottle opener, but Squirt has it. By this time I have not decided yet, what my tool is better. I am carrying them both. I am thinking to purchase Rambler and to change scales from my Signature Lite. As a result I will get pair of Midnight Manager and Classic SD. May be, then my Squirt will go to rest in shelf- I don't know?

true, although I heard Gerber Dime is the worst of them, but great because of its small price and unique tools. Unfortunately I don't own a Gerber Dime yet so I could make my own comparison.

@@andreicarzol The Dime is cheap, good toolset, very robust blade for the overall size. BUT, like all Gerbers the ergo is HORRIBLE. It's just super handy for me as I'm an Electronics Tech. I'd prefer a tiny Leatherman, but they're three times the price of the Dime here...

I carried a Gerber Splice i think it's way better/useful than the Dime. But since the Rambler literally has the same tools(and more), lighter, smaller, better quality and more useful for dailytask I chose the Rambler. If I'm in a nedd of pliers I simply get a decent one.

Awesome 🙂 yeah..those pliers and wire cutters can be sooo useful sometimes... I found myself in situations where I need those as well and because I can't have my Victorinox Hercules (too bulky in the pocket) i go with the PS4. Depends ... I'm switching based on where I'm going and what I think I might need.

Yeah Leatherman scissors aren't really up to much so it's better to carry a Leatherman like the Rebar (which doesn't have scissors) or another scissorless multitool, and pair it up with a Victorinox. Or get a Swisstool X which has the same scissors as on a 91/93mm SAK (but not the Spirit X which has poor scissors)...or go for Nextool Mini or full size which all have amazing scissors! The Nextool Mini outperforms the Leatherman Squirt in almost every way, the only downside to it is that the file doesn't have the cutting edge which you can use as a small saw.

I think the Rambler is the best for Edc. For all other things a decent multitool (Leatherman, SOG) is more efficient if you have a backpack. About flaslights I think it's more efficient to buy a dedicated one. Like Nitecore Tiki or something similar.

My thoughts entirely! I have often said that if Victorinox made a keychain pliers multitool - imagine 2 x 58mm alox vics folding around a plier head - and a medium size one like the (now discontinued) Leatherman Juice series consisting of 2 x 93mm alox knives folding around a plier head, they would be top of their league. Victorinox full size multitools - Spirit and Swisstool range - are the best there are. I have the Leatherman Squirt PS4 and as you say the scissors are crap, there is too much play between the blades to enable them to cut very fine materials like cotton thread, or thin plastic sheeting, and they can't deal with tougher stuff like paracord either. The backspring on the knife blade is weak. Furthermore the ''2D Phillips'' seems to be made of cheese, obviously not soft cheese like brie, something more like Emmental or Gruyere, as it gets burrs and deformations in it's profile on the rare occasions I've used it for it's intended purpose. Finally the bottle opener is just embarrassing to use in front of other people who look at you perplexed when they see how you struggle and pass you a lighter with which to open your beer. Only the pliers and file on the Squirt are much use. For a fraction of the price a Nextool Mini Flagship performs better in almost all aspects, I bought mine on a whim as it cost next to nothing ordering directly from China and now it gets more pocket time than the Squirt.

Well Leatherman is not as bad as the Gerber Dime, i would say decent, but most of the reviews about the Leatherman seems over appreciated so I had to do this review. Yes, I agree, Victorinox is the best quality. Totally agree with the pliers. I have the Victorinox Hercules with pliers and saws and i love it, but it's a bit uncomfortable to carry because of its size.

Waaw, nice 😊, making your own multitool. That means you can get the knife out and take it on the plane as well. But does it fit that perfectly with the swap you did?

If the scissors spring on your Rambler or any other SAK breaks you just buy another one for a couple of bucks and replace it. Whereas if the Squirt scissors spring breaks now you're screwed because it's discontinued.. Mine broke and if I send it in under warranty they send me a Micra back.

Well they are comparable in size, the ones you mentioned are bulkier, I have also a Victorinox Hercules and I love that tool but I can't quite carry it when o go for a walk in the park. It depends on everyone's needs regarding the tools. The Leatherman does it's job, I can't complain, but still, I think Victorinox has better quality and no design flaws.
