First time I crushed my chest on my snowboard next secession I was rocking a chest and back protector. Been wearing ever since my fall 20 days later. This comment is exactly how I felt when I got laughed at cause I wanted to wear protection 🤙🏾

I Broke My Clavicle Bone, as well as 5 Ribs, and A Punctured Lung. I have not Yet had My Surgery to my Clavicle yet, I go in May 11th for that. Anyways, I'm NOT going back to riding ATV's until I get some kind of Protection, so that this does not happen to me again. This Looks like A Very well made product.

I wishing for a quick recovery, that really sucks 😣. It’s a really good kit, even if nothing out there will protect you fully. I did a slow crash at the club championchip, hit my shoulder. It still is causing me pain and prohibit full motion, but for sure, without any gear it would have been much worse.

why do you have to remove half of the back protector to fit the neckbrace? They kindof did that better with the 5.5 protector
@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
It will not fit snuggly otherwise, as the piece you remove sticks out quite a bit. Now it do not move around or anything, real good fit.

Do you know if you can buy just the shoulder pads like the 6.5 body protector? I cant seem to find that information. Also, how warm do you find this when the weather is hot and humid?
@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
The. You would need to get another product. I’we seen different kind of under jacket, like short armed and such. But you kan for sure use the outer hard chest and back protector with any other soft product underneath. It has been great, now we don’t get super hot weather here though. For hotter climates there might be less covere under soft protection possibilities from Leatt you could get.

Whats your waist measurement (belly button). The only difference is the jacket, doubt you will need XXL.

Is it backpack compatible? I do a lot of long rides and carry a decent sized backpack with water, tools, and snacks. Would this inhibit my ability to do that?

Thanks for the feedback on leatt 6.5 guards. When it is very hot, is the ventilation of the 6.5 chest protector good?
@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say enough for very hot, but then again.. more larger holes = less protection for sure. You’ll get drenched in sweat no matter what lol

82-85kg 182cm tall. I regnet not going for a size smaller, as for enduro riding, you want the elbow and shoulder protectors sit solid and not move.
@genomedia44

I have a Acerbis Koerta body armor. The shoulder and elbow protection is much better on it, but I think the Leatt is better on the chest, and although I'm not sure how the back protection compares, the Leatt runs lower at the back. Bit disappointing to me, as I was hoping to upgrade to this as it's getting a bit old and doesnt fit well around a neck brace
@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
One other benefit with the Leatt one, is the seamless integration with the brace. Only thing I wish, is that shoulder and elbow protection inlays were of a softer memory foam material. Almost prefer scrapping the hard outer shell, but then again not sure how it would impact any damage done by a crash. I crashed the other weekend, my shoulder still hurts. Question is, how would the outcome been if I only had my AirFit lite kit?!

@@everythingtenere " I wish, is that shoulder and elbow protection inlays were of a softer memory foam material" ; I haven't fitted the inner part, only pressed and felt at the shoulder and elbow parts, which to me seemed too thin, making it seem inadequate (as compared to the much thicker foam in the Koerta). But maybe I'm making the mistake to judge it by what it feels like, instead of looking at what the certification offers? (which is the same for both) "scrapping the hard outer shell" ? Of the shoulder/elbow? So when you say "softer memory foam" ; what do you find the problem to be with this? Does it restrict movement? uncomfortable? (in the trade-off between comfort for safety) Haha, yeah, I wish we could know those "what if questions" :D
@genomedia44
@genomedia44 Жыл бұрын
oh , I think I get it; you're comparing this with the 3DF foam in the AirFit? These are the ones that are soft until impact, where it hardens?
@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
@@genomedia44 no very comfy, and I think the memory foam inserts get a bit softer when warmer outside. I could always take my AirFit lite, remove back and chest protector and have that underneath instead. Then I would real the benefit of the hard chest and back protector, but only soft elbow and shoulder. But not as hi CE rating. And now after having this setup for some time, I wish I took a size smaller. So the jacket would fit tighter, but it felt too tight when I tested it all out. But bigger rust now, that a elbow protector would slip away when hitting the ground.

@@everythingtenere I see. I was just thinking; re the Body Protector 6.5; could you wear the bottom layer w elbow/shoulder protectors underneath your adventure jacket, then have the hard chest/back protector part "hang" over your jacket on the outside? Then the neck brace could fit on top as it should. The reason I ask is, that with my current setup I have to put the neck brace first, then the body armour (because the back protector is too bulky to have the neck brace fit over), then the jacket, which then can't zip up to the top, because the neck brace is there. The gap then allows cold air/rain to come in. It would just make more sense to be able to put jacket THEN neck brace...

@everythingtenere
@everythingtenere Жыл бұрын
Hmm, XL at least, maybe XXL. The only difference will be the jacket size. I’m 1.82 and 85’ish and the xl is kind of loose, I could have picked the L without being to uncomfortable in it. Best is if you could try it out in a store, but I know it could be hard to find.

I can tell you from experience that any back protector that is not held on with a kidney belt is a waste of time. This body amor is useless if you flip your bike at speed.

Honestly, I will agree. I would have preferred having some back protector built in the under jacket too. But for the enduro I do and use it for mostly now, it’s perfect.
