I love Yuru Camp Δ. Not only is it utterly relaxing, it has such a charm to it that is hard to put into words. Part of this charm I feel, is how carefully it treats someone like Rin. Instead of forcing her or unnaturally having her join the (obvious) club, the show is respectful of Rin and what she wants to do-to the joy of introverts everywhere.

Oh boy, a video on one of my favorite aspects of Yuru Camp. I feel like this series does a very good job at portraying both the fun of doing something (camping) with a group of friends, but also showing that doing that by yourself is also an equally interesting experience. Not only that, but it shows a respect for both sides. I normally travel alone (i know, not camping, but still point remains the same), and some people really seem surprised at the fact that you can have fun by yourself, and not get bored. It's an amazing experience to be alone in a new place, just you and your thoughts. You and your little adventure. The best part of travelling alone is, though, that you can choose how to spend your time, maybe sometimes you just want to talk to people and have fun with them. You can do that quite easily (and I do). Or you can choose to explore a new place completely alone (and I also do that). I think everyone should be comfortable with either of those situations. Not necessarily liking both the same , but be comfortable and realize than there are things to gain from both. Being fine with just your own company from time to time even if you are an extrovert. Appreciating the company of others from time to time even if you are an introvert. Or at least that's how I feel.

I completely agree with your final sentiment. If Yuru Camp is about anything in particular, it's about balance, and the value you can find in both ways of life. I'm an introvert to the extreme, but even I know I have to force myself out there sometimes. Thanks for watching, and for the insightful comment!

I saw myself in Rins character right away as I have done fair bit of outdoor activities and some among people in my own age group. I tend to be the silent type in large groups and try to divert attention away from myself.

As an introvert who probably leans maybe too much of my loner nature, I instantly related to her and found the show so goddamn comfy. I still need to finish it because I got started on more "exciting" stuff in the meantime, but I always know that whenever I want to feel warm and calm, I can start up this show and get under my blankets

What's fascinating is that the show includes the extrovert learning to appreciate what an introvert experiences, and how she decides to try solo-camping for herself, even as the introvert learns to appreciate the unique benefits of camping with a group of friends. I do agree with you, this show is very special in how it respectfully treats all of the different characters.

In season 2 this gets even better, cause not only it didn't happened what you'd expect of Rin joining the others and stopping camping by herself, but even the opposite happens, Nadeshiko, the ultra-extroverted girl gets interested on spending time by herself and goes camping alone. I loved this decision and elevated Yuru Camp even more for me

Was just about to bring up this comparison lol It's one of my favourite episodes from that season. Seeing Nadeshiko just instantly making new friends shows how a little bit of alone time can be just as beneficial to extroverts as it is for introverts

Lots of people think being an introvert is someone who is unable to socialize like normal. I think it's mostly that an introvert prioritizes being alone over going out their way to socialize. It creates this impression that they are unable to talk to people but that assumption is just not correct.

I really like how the dynamic between Nadeshiko and Rin friendship works, with mamashiko learning to reflect more about herself and thus growing up a little while shimarin tries to do new things and step outside her comfort zone little by little sometimes. Being with another person or a group always give you something good but being solitary sometimes is important for talking with yourself, an slice of life about camping with a deep yet simple meaning is what Yurukyan is.

I was wondering why I loved Rin's solo camping moments more than group camping moments in both seasons...Thanks to this video I knew the reason - it's because I can relate to Rin as an introvert. Being an introvert myself, I just love going to places alone and have only my thoughts do the talking randomly like a tour guide or a critic. Likewise when watching or reading stuff by myself etc. It's just the peace and quiet and/or have the ability to think without any interruptions or have people talking near you. I think this is something that hardly anyone (especially extroverts) can get. Sometimes even during lunch breaks at work, I just feel like going to a nearby café alone without any of my colleagues due to the same reasons above. Just like how Rin loves doing solo camping, I love doing things or going somewhere all by myself a lot of times. Now, this doesn't mean I don't socialise. I talk like a chatterbox when it comes to my favourite topics in a conversation, or hanging out with friends like watching a movie etc. Maybe not parties as I hate the drinking culture. But just that most of times I just enjoy to be alone, it's my mood and that's what I favour the most. Glad there is an anime out there that explores this with pride.

Great video. I was curious if I was the only person who appreciated this aspect of Yuru Camp, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I am not. Even better, by the end of season two, not only did Rin not join the club yet, she inspired Nadeshiko to do some solo camping herself. It made me so happy to see introversion not treated like some sort of problem for once.

It's not really mentioned in the video but Rin was pretty sociable even before Nadeshiko came on the scene. She took pictures of the places she was camping and she'd mess around on LINE even while she was camping by herself. She isn't socially awkward in any way - in her own way she's pretty bold - she just likes the solitude of solo camping. She has a balance in her life that she likes and works for her.

Can I say *thank you* ? For the longest time, I thought that being introvert was some sort of... "not good" thing. Because how people (and Internet/Social Media) give preference to loud, flashy people, with personality and stuff. Just look at how many people are enraptured by Elon Musk. I talked about introvert thing with my mom, and she sort of opened my eyes as to introverted people have value, but the way society is, they can not fully appreciate it. It was such a relief to hear. Then much later when I watched this anime, I thought Rin would turn into a stereotypical Kudure, but to my surprise, she felt very real and relatable (similar to Kobayashi in Dragon Maid). But what had my heart was the girls surrounding her. *They gave space to Rin without making a fuss about it* . I usually feel that when people want constantly something out of you when you are around them, and as an introvert, it can drain you. Your analysis reminded me a lot of what my mom said to me. I had a rush of "feels" coming to me, I wanted to THANK YOU for that. Love, An Introvert.

Rin is my favorite character of the show. She wants to be alone most of the time but she isn't shy about talking with the other characters. She has a lot of great moments when she's by herself, which is very hard for most slice of life characters and other characters in general since character interaction is one of the most important traits in slice of life shows in my opinion. Even my favorite characters probably can't pull that off. Although it was forshadowed that Rin will camp with the others in a large group, I hope that it will be her that says that she wants to camp with the others.

Rin is just too good to be true. I can relate to her in almost any part of my life. I love travelling alone and take some photos. I only have a few friends in my life and I am happy with it. I am socially awkward sometimes and rejected most of my friend's invitation to go out. But they keep asking me and that's fine because they genuinely cared about me. I've never seen an anime that fits so perfectly right to me. Absolutely putting this in my top list.

I love this show so much. It's comforting to see something not so common in real life, people still extending a hand towards the loner time and time again to include them (should the loner wish it) instead of halting any further offers in the future. Closing that gap once people think they shouldn't invite you to things anymore is so difficult. Just seeing the dynamic in their interactions in this show is so soothing because you don't see many examples of that balance of alone, alone together or together all in one place. At least not in media in the UK in my case.

Yes, sometimes people can't see the difference between introverts (real one and not those self-proclaiming introverts) and loner. And Introverts is not unsociable, they just need time to open up with other with their own pace. Sometimes people think its best if we can force them to open up, but actually thats wrong, we need to give them time and space, don't force your own idea for other people.
@lustriousillustrious

This reminds me a lot of what you said in your New Game! video. The fact that Nadeshiko and the club members balance between interacting and letting a friend do their thing, while not being cold or overly pushy is a really mature position to take, especially for a club that needs more membership. I think it has a lot to do with how they're all independently interested in camping. Rin camps by herself and enjoys it, Chiaki goes and does scouting by herself and enjoy it, and Aoi and Chiaki hold different jobs. It also makes their interactions so much more meaningful and fun when they do come together. Also contrast this with another introvert, Koizumi-san in "Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san". We rarely get to see Koizumi-san go out and enjoy ramen as herself. It always has to be framed in terms of some interaction with another more socially active character.

And I suppose there's nothing wrong in finding enjoyment in these virtues but I can't help but be a little jealous. When you describe it, it seems like there's so much merit, philosophy, and lesson in these shows its astounding! I want to be able to view shows in the same light as you one day :) nevertheless, congrats on another amazing video! Definently did not disappoint 👍

This is actually the anime I've been enjoying most, this season. I still have yet to watch Violet Evergarden and A Place Farther Than the Universe, though, and I feel those would be the only shows to topple Yuru Camp for me. How do you feel about the background art? Personally, I find it to be the best aspect of the show... well that and Rin is a really enjoyable character.

The background art is stupendous! I mean, it's kind of needed in a show so focused around nature, but it's got such a nice balance between being realistic yet notably drawn. I love the colors in particular, but I'm biased considering my favorite is green. VEG started off kind of eh, but the latest episode really impressed me, and I'm hoping it continues that trend. SoraYori is really good at what it does, and it's definitely battling with Yuru Camp for my AOTS, but Δ slight edges it out right now for me. I think Sora Yori really needs to stick its ending though, and if it does then it's a tough choice.

Oh and it's the autumn color palette that's doing it for me, the browns, greens, yellows, and reds all look so good when they're washed out.
