What's it like to be a unicorn? Jim Domen has a pretty good answer for that. He built a successful art gallery in Palm Springs with his gay partner and, from all appearances, lived a charmed life. But the veneer was cracking and his personal life was a nightmare. His partner stole their money, changed the locks, and kicked him out of their shared apartment. As an adult, and much like the prodigal son returning home, Jim went back to his parents, found Christ, and abandoned his gay identity. While working to pass California’s Prop. 8, defining marriage as between a man and a woman, he was dating his future wife. They have been married for 15 years and have three children. While not enjoying family time, he can be found working with Church United, hunting, completing Iron Man races, or writing books.

I tried to force myself to be straight to make my family happy, and I have to say it was the most miserable experience of my life. My partner and I have been together for over a year now, and it’s the truest love I have ever known.she is my soul mate 💯.

And you're sure you're not offended? Because it seems like you dislike us very much and are somewhat-to-very upset about the fact that we're sharing the stories of the ex-gays. Maybe what is really bugging you is that your conscience is telling you that you need to change some things in your life, and you're reminded of that when you see stories like this one, so you try to drown out the reminders that prick your conscience. Are you going to try to keep shutting up those external reminders or are you going to listen to your own conscience and take action on what it tells you to do?

JONAH was sued in 2015 for 3.5 million for fraud regarding conversion therapy for gays. They reopened under a different name later. That's one example that Jim didn't know about.

Jennifer, why do all of these people use the word "lifestyle" and "struggle"? Why is that? I never was so theocratically or ideologically driven to start using cliche words. Jim married "God's design and plan" so it was part of a religious conversion which is fine.

You may not choose your sexual orientation, but you do choose what you do with it and what kind of life you live: whom you sleep with, what bars you frequent, whether to/how much porn to watch, friends, whether or not to attend church, where you live, how you act and on and on. That's a lifestyle, and that is a choice.

I really enjoyed this talk. I went to a church that was open to everyone, and the few people who were "gay" followed God's design and had families. Church can be kind, friendly, and give support, but we don't have to accept their lifestyle.

Depends on what acceptance is. Did you take them aside and tell them the "error of the ways". Did the pastor call for execution? Did you silently disapprove and tell the kids not to do that?

May God lift the judgement from Ruth's eyes and help her to focus creatively in her true passions instead of attempting to enforce her own limited perceptions on reality which have No bearing in Truth, Love, Wisdom, Power, Strength, Open hearted Acceptance and so on Collective insanity needs addressing here. How Dare You enforce Your ridiculous control onto what people think feel say do behave Anyone !!! How Dare You tell ANYONE HOW TO BEHAVE!!! It's a form of fascism

Nobody can be "born gay" unless they come out of their mother 69ing their twin brother. There is no such thing as born gay--babies don't have a sexuality. Sexuality develops in human beings. And then usually after 75 it goes away. You're saying you were born gay because if you say you're genetically gay, it would be torn apart by science. But that's what you're trying to imply. However there's never been any gene found for being gay.

Would you try to be Crystal Clear about Exactly what it is that makes You so upset about labels? Surely any discussion about identity needs to be aware of ego and what ego and personality are. No one needs to be told a fake version of what You think is right or wrong !! Love is the self sustainer of its own Balance How can we judge? When to judge is to condemn our very Soul!!! God !!!!! Dr Dr what's the difference between God and a Doctor? God doesn't think s/he is a Doctor!!!

@@RuthInstitute Strange you would find my comment gross. It's pertinent to your KZfaq Channel. So this guy is making a living selling ex-gay services. Wouldn't phallometric testing be needed to confirm he isn't just a huckster? Andrew Rodriguez says, well, this testing is very expensive, so we can't do it. Andrew desperately doesn't want any of his patients tested. He's preying on vulnerable people to make a living. And you are enabling them because you have a chip on your shoulder.
