Took senior girl scouts ( ages 15-18) yrs ago when they all finished out years of girl scouts..was chaperone with my oldest daughter (22) and my youngest son ( 6 at the time) had to go with me and the troop leader ..my first airplane ride from Detroit to NYC.-.LGA .... WE rode on a 37 seater...thought I was going to die ! With my kids with me ..good lordy .horrible turbulence and then 4 of our girls were horrible ..went everywhere including Ellis Island and Empire State , the 1st 9/11 museum; Tiffany's; Times Square; Central Park and every store in between...stayed in a hotel ; a hostel and that was terribly interesting..naked men running from hallway showers etc...needless to say I will take my kids but no more girl scout trips ever ..plus the ride home was even worse thru a thunderstorm he flew into that just popped up...thought I would never fly again..but then 2 years ago I went with a set of my grands to WDW from Detroit to Orlando and rode a real sized plane ..much better

Adam, thank you for painting New York in such a positive light. Those of us that live here constantly get a rap, but this is easily the best place I've lived (also spent 4 years in FL). Next time you're here, I'd love to give you my companion ticket to visit the Museum of Natural History after hours-- it's like Night at the Museum! Also, I recommend flying into LaGuardia from MCO; they just redid it and it's absolutely stunning. You caught Newark on a good day, it's usually a disaster lol

Adam, as someone who flies in and out of Newark regularly I can tell you that when you got here you were most likely in Terminal C which is United's main terminal. Your departure from NYC in Terminal A is an overflow terminal for United as it allows them to fly more routes out of NYC. Also, Terminal A just opened back in January and it is extremely nice, but yeah it is quite quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of Terminal C.
@MysteryMii
@MysteryMii Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Terminal A is also where American, JetBlue, and Air Canada operate out of at the airport (with Delta also moving their operations at Newark into Terminal A once the rest of the terminal opens later this year).

I 100% agree with you about not moving to NYC in particular because of the weather . Snow and ice especially! I’m originally from Chicago, and have lived in Massachusetts, New York ( upstate) , Maryland and Pennsylvania. Weather, and then some, in all locations. I was a school bus driver in New York and Pennsylvania. Even though there were, in fact, snow days, there were miscalculations, and there were times you had to drive through ‘some stuff’. We now reside in North Carolina, and I will definitely take cold over snow and ice!

Next time, Adam, you should stay at the historic and Art Deco hotel, the New Yorker. It has a wonderful history and beautiful refurbished rooms that honor and respect that Art Deco style. Our room had two queen beds and 2 full bathrooms plus a living area. And there was a 24 hour Tic Toc Restaurant on the ground floor, next door. Plus they had shops and a gym in the lower level from the ground floor. It was beautiful! And Nicolai Tesla lived there in his later years. You should definitely check it out.
