(please ignore the end where I literally say the same thing twice, my editing skills failed me but it'll take too long to export and upload again)
Third ride undersaddle and we're already conquering riding in larger areas :) This should help get her moving forward! I was super happy with this day's progress but also I was also so tired because of the 5 day clinic (I think this was after teaching day 3 or 4 of it!).
I'm staying really busy with clinics and lessons now so we haven't worked every single day, especially at the next location we go to, but she's doing great. That also leads me to remind you guys that I have about 10 more clinics this year alllll across the country. Check out my website for specific dates. The next spot is Wyoming and then Colorado!

Super work outside the round pen team Sam & Snooze! She just keeps on thinking & working through each new ask that you have, and seems to really retain the skills & confidence she's gained from each previous session with you. No doubt the whole transition from completely wild horse to where she finds herself initially after being drawn must be stressful, but I really have to wonder if once they get settled, that they're actually relieved to have a constant, no-fail hay and water source, and be free of the constant power struggles band stallions always seem to cause. It's like they can FINALLY stop worrying. I think I'm projecting a bit...but I do wonder.🐴💕👍

This mare reminds me of my borrowed mustang I had when I was a teen- he didn’t know what I was doing, I didn’t know what he was doing he didn’t know what to do and I didn’t know what to do...yet luckily we lived through each other and he was my FAVORITE HORSE EVER! I’m scared of horses now. I’d be convinced to try again if I found one like Snooze... she’s lovely🥰

I definitely understand having a horse that gravitates towards where they know the work will stop, my rescue took months to get out of that mindset and it took a lot of persistence from me to end our rides in a different place in our pasture each time! It's been just over two years from when I got him, and now he's incredibly forward and rides just about how I like to! Snooze is lovely already and I can't wait to see how she progresses!

I truly appreciate your attention to the details of the training..developing the softness of the mouth, I think knowing how to teach steering is wonderful...the open spaces point of out the round corral, is an excellent point! just cause a horse is mellow, does not mean they ain't smart, she has figured out a whole lot.... especially where to get total release! at the hitching area.

13:15 In our barn we have a similar saying, "The main goal is completion, not perfection." It's a hard lesson for some people to learn. You can't expect a horse to know everything right away and have a polished, flawless performance, that just won't happen the first go around. We all start somewhere 💁‍♀️

I study Parelli in Parelli land Snooze is a Left Brain Introvert. Smart, confident, you’re not the boss of me, what’s in it for me and I need to save my energy in case my life is in danger. Strategies, not too long sessions ( just how Sam is doing), I tend to ask for forward movement at the shoulder instead of hindquarters because the horse is less likely to buck. I love these horses ( mine is just like this). Because when they connect with you they will give you everything, they will take care of you and all they want in return is rest and food. ❤️.
