Күн бұрынIs the WILLYS Jeep the best of all 4x4s? In this episode in off-road mode, Cyril takes you in a 1943 WILLYS mb Jeep with Denis from Jeep Village to go off-road, bridge crossing and watchtower are on the program. 80 years later, the grandmother is still resisting.
On the program of this video, no Conso point, I promise we won't detail the sound of hard plastics, there isn't any, but we're just going to do some off-road wheel turns together, with some off-road acrobatics , here we go !
A nod to the past and automotive history, a mythical car from 1943 which was in the war and surely took part in the landing.

After, WW2 my father bought a surplus Jeep still in desert colour. He drove it back to the Highlands Scotland from London £10 worth of petrol got him home. He used it for years in all situations and weather. His brother fitted a comfortable upper body as he was a carpenter. Sadly my father sold it. I remember seeing it sitting at a country cottage years later, still in use. Registration G O R. 751.I wish I had a Jeep. Real chunky tyres help in muddy conditions. Good video thanks.

tout simplement fantastique ! Jeep Willys est plus qu'une simple voiture, c'est un style, une philosophie de vie ! Ici dans ma famille nous avons le même CJ3A depuis trois générations, et la passion se transmet de père en fils. au restaurateur, mon admiration pour le travail, et au propriétaire, mes félicitations pour le véhicule !

J'ai aussi une willys de 1943 depuis 40 ans, elle est équipée de radio bc1000, mitrailleuse, phare chercheur, j'ai fais des concentrations pendant 10 ans, aujourd'hui c'est mon fils qui roule avec, elle est dans un état impeccable toujours au chaud et bichonnée, je suis collectioneur us ww2.

J’en ai conduit pas mal en 79/80 quand j’étais au 6°Rpima, comme les GMC d’ailleurs. Le pied total !

The first Jeep that my Late Dad bought was a 1943 Willy's Flat fender. He paid $400.00 for it and yes at that price it did not run. But the price included a trailer to haul it home on some extra body parts and a spare engine. That was way back in 1971. I never did get to drive the Flatty it got sold before I got my driver's lic. But I sure made up for it on the next Jeep that Dad bought which was a 1969 Jeep CJ-5. my high school friends and I drove the wheels off that thing. The Flatty had for some reason a US Quarter brazed to the nut that holds the steering wheel on. So if anybody ever finds a 43 Willys with a quarter on it that's my Dad's old Jeep.

Pour avoir connu la Willys au Pays Basque, c'est un excellent véhicule, ingénieux et innovant comme on sait, et qui a ouvert la voie à tous les autres. Mais il convient de changer les pneus d'origine pour des pneus sculptés qui améliorent considérablement l'adhérence. Et pour n'importe quel 4X4 d'ailleurs. Pour le confort, certes, il faudra repasser ...

Je confirme ...pour avoir été l'heureux possesseur de 5 jeep willys , mb , et châssis long construction française en Côte d'Ivoire , ce véhicule est le meilleur 4x4 que j'ai eu à conduire , sur le sable des plages , la boue des routes défoncées en saison des pluies , sur la tôle ondulée de la saison sèche et même...pour jouer , sur les immenses tas de sciures déversées quotidiennement par la scierie où j'ai eu à travailler... Sa seule limite : les axes de roue AR que j'arrivais à casser , parce que j'en demandais toujours trop à ce phénomène de voiture. Quand j'en vois une , je suis tellement ému...!!!

One of these models was known as The Widowmaker. I think it was a straight axle, not the one with independent suspension. It would roll over very easily in a quick turn. Yall ar having way too much fun👍🤗🇺🇸

If you want something that doesn't roll over easily in a quick turn, buy a sports car. I don't think you will have much luck with the sports car trying to follow the jeep in these conditions, however. (And yes, the lowercase "jeep" is correct. It wasn't yet a brand name in 1943.)

No you are mistaken the jeep introduced during the Vietnam War that had independent suspension was the jeep that rolled easily. The straight axle jeeps will roll if you get stupid with them, however it is the independent suspension that was the problem!

That was M 151 a1 which was replaced by the a2 version. You can still buy these but they are not street legal in many states.

"The best 4x4 in the world" Absolutely with a Capital A! Not like the modern crappy contraptions with computer-controlled "all wheel drive" applications, requiring none of driver off-roading skills and the computer getting it all wrong. My one and only opportunity to drive an original genuine Willys was almost 50 years ago and I value dearly the experience to this day, and I remember all the controls to the last detail as if it was yesterday. Second best is the British Series 1 Land Rover, whose design of course was sparked off by the Willys Jeep.

My Dad has had three over the years. I painted the last one he owned. Now drives a 00' TJ. I've had three YJ's and a XJ . Next for me is a TJ. Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Jeep, there's only one.

Nostalgie, nostalgie . Les premières que j ai conduit étaient a l armée puis dans les pompiers, une gpw (Ford). Ensuite j en ai eu 2 ,une MB et une M201.

I learned how to drive in my grandfather's old Willys Jeep. I was about 8 years old. He put blocks on the pedals so I could reach them. LOL.

Eso carros son lo mejor que se ha fabricado. De la antigua base de Gtmo ,los militares los vendían cuando ya dejaban de están en regla para uso militar ,antes de 1959. Todavía hoy los puedes ver en Cuba transportando personas . Son muy bueno .

J'ai eu la chance d'en conduire et d'en faire l'entretien au DSD du 403 ème RA en 80 mise a part les Willys il y avait des unimogs Mercedes quelques 404 et des méharis 4×4 ou normal que de bon souvenirs
