Magic was extremely versatile. That Game 6 against Philly starting in Kareem's place shows this and shows he had a lot more scoring punch than he was given credit for. Couldn't shoot like Bird but when the situation called for it, he could still pump in the points. I have him a close 4th all time behind Bird, both behind Russell and Wilt.

Important NBA history!!!! The Lakers announcer that you hear on the video is named chick Hearn. Laker announcer for 47 years. He created many of the basketball terms that are used every day. Finger roll, slam dunk, dribble drive…. (chickisms… look it up) The greatest non-player impact in NBA history. He is responsible for the language used when talking about basketball everywhere in the world.

Your reactions were hilarious......I watched nearly all of that happen live in the '80s! Remember, when he took over in that finals game and won it for them, he started at center but played all 5 positions at some point in the game....as a 20 year old rookie.....the only rookie EVER to win "Finals MVP"! He was special! There's a REALLY good documentary about Magic and Bird called "Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals"......I HIGHLY recommend checking it out!
