Really? Uhm, no. The fact that Davis has a higher PER than Lebron PROVES Shannon's point that Giannis's having a higher PER than Lebron is MISLEADING. Lebron, Giannis, and Davis are all top-ten PER right now. Clearly, they (all three) are efficient contributors, but we know that Lebron is WAY more important to the Lakers than Davis. How? Lebron leads the league in real plus minus by a HUGE margin, way ahead of even Giannis! THAT is analytics right there. Lebron is more important to his team than Giannis is to his. It's that simple. All season long commentatars lament how the Lakers lose leads or fall behind whenever Lebron sits. That does NOT happen to the Bucks when Giannis sits. It does NOT happen to the Lakers when Davis sits (to the contrary, they often do better when he does!).

Kyle Snyder Giannis should and probably will win the MVP but the East is for sure worse than the west they’ve gotten better but it’s still a pretty top heavy conference likes it’s been for the last decade and Middleton is really good Giannis isn’t dragging him it’s not like it’s Lebron with Mo Williams if u remember that. Lebron been great this year tho but i don’t think if u adjusted his stats up a bit for playing in harder conference and Giannis down a bit for playing in a weaker conference Giannis would still be having a better year.

@Kyle Snyder You mean the ALL-ENCOMPASSING, NET EFFECT stat known as the real plus minus stat? Yes, that is the one, and Lebron leads it. That is what I am talking about. Giannis sits, Bucks still do well. Giannis misses entire game, no matter....Bucks win against good teams. Remember Kevin Love on the Timberwolves all those years? League-leading rebounder and true shooting percentage, etc? Stats mean nothing out of context. In context, Lebron's stats are more impressive than Giannis. That is why Giannis was EXPOSED last year in playoffs vs Raptors despite winning MVP in reg season. Literally could do NOTHING for four straight playoff games. Dont' get me wrong...I like Giannis and his power game, but like Davis before joining Lakers, he has not proven anything yet.

@Mike B 1. LeBron is more of a perimeter player than Giannis so ofc his shooting percentage is going to be low. 3 pt percentage? Dude LeBron averages 6.3 3pt attempts per game to Giannis's 4.7 attempts and he STILL has a higher shooting percentage from 3. Also consider the fact LeBron shoots 3's off the dribble, off catch and shoots and literally 4+ feet behind the line sometimes. While Giannis literally has to be open for him to knock a 3 or it must be lightly contested. Giannis isn't a catch and shoot shooter, in fact he is barely and off the dribble shooter.. he needs to take his time on his shots. 2. So what if giannis stats are better vs west teams than east? That doesn't change the fact that the West is indeed harder. The funny thing is, LeBron for his career has better avgs vs the west, so that means nothing. 3. Yeah Giannis is leading in PER, and will probably have the best all time.. but career PER LeBron is second only to Jordan... I don't understand where you got that false 126th stat lmao.

I think LeBron is within striking distance of being the GOAT, and that he has been robbed a few times from more MVPs, but this season is clearly Giannis' to lose. I'd still rather have Bron on my team, but Giannis is putting up insane numbers, and it really shouldn't be in question at this point.

The dude is averaging 30/14/6, playing around 30mpg, having the highest PER of all time, top 3 candidate for DPOTY and the Bucks are on pace for 71 wins ! His 2nd best teammate is Middleton who at best is a top 20 player in the league while LeBron has AD who by the way is leading the Lakers in pts, rbs, stls, blks and PER and is widely considered a top 4 - 7 player in the league. It's not even close between them

Lol...the narrative use to be two Superstars on one team will take away votes from each other. But the media has done a great job of downplaying AD's contributions. Remember at the beginning of the year they were trying to have AD be DPOY and that he was getting votes for MVP as well. Luka, Harden and Giannis were early season favorites. Luka gets hurt and now the push is for Lebron in the media...because of the narrative (17th yr). Now to discredit Giannis the narrative about rewarding him THIS year's regular season is to talk about him struggling in the Eastern Conference Finals LAST year because they have no legitimate reason to badmouth him because of his production. Steve Nash won back to back MVPs...did he get to the Finals 👀

j 314 Watch some games, Anthony Davis has performed nowhere close to what he was at the beginning of the season on either Offense or defense. Harden hasn’t performed at all the past two months at a consistent basis. Luka has been injured as you mentioned. Lebron has been consistent & the impact he has on this team and its offense is even more clear than teams in the past. I think giannis should win the MVP, but don’t act like Lebron isn’t right there. Watch some basketball

@@Prayersfury Facts. Lebron was an early season favorite too right alongside those guys. The others either dealt with injuries as the year went on or had inconsistent stretches. Any other year Lebron would win it, the Lakers have a negative net rating when he leaves the court and a highly positive one when he comes back on, he's the very definition of "most valuable." Giannis will and should win it though because he's just been ridiculous all year and they've been tearing apart the East.

Can we stop acting like Bron doesn't have AD on his team, sure make whatever argument you want that they wouldn't make playoffs if LBJ wasn't there, but you can make that argument about any top heavy team. AD is not a tier 1 first option in THIS NBA, 10 years ago absolutely Tier 1. The East is weaker this year. The East has 7 teams under .400 and 9 teams under .500. it's a lot easier to win the east this year because half of your conference are throwaway teams. I'm a Hornets fan so I pay so much attention to the East too. Easy to play hard if you don't really need to lock in half of the time.

As a Bron fan, Giannis is the MVP-no question. And if I were a Giannis guy I would be mad this was a conversation. However, if Bron wins it, this is repayment for the MVP he should’ve gotten in 2018 playing all 82 and dragging that team to the finals.
