I think in the first trick he changed the cards when they went to sign the card and held cards by putting pressure on them so that they look broad and then slightly reduced the pressure on the deck resulting to the effect that the deck become thinner and thinner

David blaine is just about the polar opposite of humble give or take a degree. False modesty is the worst and he just exudes it. Chris ramsay has a video describing a day with him and i recommend it. It paints a picture of a man who wants everyone to think he is above the concerns of normal people and appears to not care at all what they think, but the attention is what he really craves. You could take the story alot of ways, thats just how i took it.
