Those guys became stars because they had the ball in their hands majority of the game, so when they join a team with 2 players even better on offense than them , it takes away what they did best and made them elite in the first place. When someone like Rodman is your 3rd best player , he doesn't need to adjust at all , he's heavily impacting the game on defense and the boards regardless of who is around him. I don't think player debates are black and white, especially comparing across eras , depends what a team needs or what the style of play from the era requires you to be good at, but Lebron definitely has a case as the greatest of all time and I believe he is.

Drafting Joe Wolf over Pippen would delay the Bulls from winning 50 games or even winning a series for a few extra seasons. And Jordan went on a huge recruiting campaign after the Bulls got molly whopped in the 1995 playoffs. He literally called rodman and told him to come to Jerry Krause's house after his failure to get Jayson Williams. Jayson Williams said: Jordan told me all he needs is for me to rebound, and he’ll get me two or three rings. He was all over me. He said I was at the top of list.
