That Cavs team wasn't anywhere near as good as the Thunder in 2012. The only reason the Cavs got to the Finals that year was because the East sucked, the Pistons were the only team in the conference that provided any sort of challenge. And this is coming from a Cavs fan.

First year against them? The Cavs lost to the Pistons in 2006. This 2007 Pistons was a depleted version of the 06 team and that 06 team was nowhere close to the 2004 and 2005 Pistons teams. Jordan went up against a Pistons team that is easily in the top10 all time list. He was the best player in all those series, but with a bad supporting cast that isn't much a player can do by himself against an all time great team,I think Lebron proved that when he played against the 2017 and 2018 Warriors.

The Cavs were favored to go to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007 and then the Pistons choked in the ECF and Daniel Gibson was able to help close the series in 6 with his 31 points on great efficiency.
