1. in bldc motor we give direct current to the electronics ,which changes the dc current to the alternating current and feed it to the rotor ,which makes motor to rotate . 2. if we are going to replace the rotor winding with permanant magnets ,than we have to give direct current to the electronics ,which changes the dc current to the alternating current,which goes to the field winding of the stator. in this construction rotor and stator swaps their position i.e. outer rotor rotates and inner or centered stator (field windings) remains stationary. which is similar to the synchronous motor in terms of construction. maybe that's why we can call it PMSM motor?? Let me know if iam wrong or right

First of all thanks for sharing your comment. yes, you are right, but it looks like you misunderstand the concept of field winding and armature winding for BLDC motors. BLDC motor does not have any field winding, the permanent magnet is used for the Main field flux its rotatory part. In BLDC armature winding is Stationary ( Stator) , we provide electronic commutation to the armature winding. As discussed in the video DC Motor Rotor:- Armature winding Stator:- Field winding( DC Supply) BLDC Motor Stator:- Armature winding Rotor:- Field (Permanent Magnet) Hope you will get my point ..

@@TheAnumodit Thank you for sharing the concept of BLDC and PMSM motors. 1. If you see the Ideal Torque Speed characteristics of DC motor and BLDC motor which is almost the same. That is the main reason, in the case of BLDC we are trying to achieve the same Torque speed characteristics without the use of conventional brushes hence the name BLDC and in DC with the help of Brushes we are achieving.
