Well it shows how much we need the Lord as people. we use external forces such as drugs people opinions , family to get the attention that we crave. we are made in God's image. we were made like that. we desire love. Christ is the only person we need. we need his love his grace. we have such a loving God. God loves us so much that he died in the cross for us. It's tough all the things we have to go through, howevwe we can do all things through christ that he gives us strength. A man is supposed to love his wife the way that Christ loved the church so if it is about his wife, so what!! Kudos to him for loving her the way God intended. My beliefs still find me having great love and respect for Jesus. In my faith, we call him Isa. He is one of the greatest Prophets who submitted to doing God's will, but I love Allah. This one is about his relationship with Jesus and how that also transfers to his relationship with his wife. Similar to how in Nuthin his message is basically: "If you aren't going to talk about God in your music, at least stop talking about drugs, violence, and money over and over."

This has been going on for quite some ages, doc... This song applies to ANYONE in your life who means the world to you. Exactly! But I was under the impression that Lecrae was a Gospel rapper. All I'm saying is this has been going on for decades: Gospel songs that don't have the gospel in them. They're absolutely amazing songs, but just ambiguous as to WHOM the song is actually praising! However, if you notice hymns were always specific to whom the praise was given: Praise ye the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation... "All Creatures of our Lord & King, praise Him. Hallelujah" "Oh Lord, my God, How great thou art" When you write a song that says: You're so great!" but we don't know who is so great cause that can apply to literally ANYBODY, then it's not a song about God any more, but a song about God & anybody else. If you want to see Jesus name, read the Word of God. Nowhere in the bible does it say make music with the name Jesus in it. I don't look for music with the name Jesus in it, I'd rather read God's own song to me. Consider this a Christian man writing songs about his life, his God, his experiences living in this world trying to be a pure believer, about all that's going on around us - the hate, the sin, the hypocrisy etc etc. Again if you need to hear the name Jesus more, search for SermonIndex and download the multiple sermons preaching & teaching about Jesus.
