Part 2: • Lecrae on Relationship...
--------
In this clip, Lecrae laid out some of the projects he's working on which include another book, a new album, as well as a documentary. He listed some of the features on his forthcoming album and explained how he landed John Legend for the project.
Later, Lecrae talked about the discussion he had with Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and Pastor Louie Giglio that went awry after Giglio's incendiary suggestion that "white privilege" be changed to "white blessing." Lecrae talked about handling the situation in the moment and how he reacted to the backlash he received for not immediately and aggressively responding to Giglio on-air.

@kwamd.1461 3 жыл бұрын
KING SocomVet Who are you to call him lukewarm? What if you are lukewarm yourself? Also, the Bible says we should judge righteously. Calling another believer lukewarm is not righteously judging him. The term “lukewarm” was in reference to the church of Laodicea, which is in the book of Revelation, I think. It’s not about trying to do things for God to prove that we are His, but rather it’s the faith that we have in Him that should propel us to do good works. Being lukewarm is believing that your works is going to get you into the kingdom of God, which is not true.

KING SocomVet What you mean by “read again” bro? What’s your definition of lukewarm then? Everything I told you is based off of my research. We take things out of context at times, and we need to be careful with some of the things we’re saying. A lot of people are deceived, and think that they’re preaching and doing all these things for Jesus, when, in actuality, they’re just doing it for their own ego and self-righteousness. Look, we have all fallen short of the glory of God. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before Him. Only God and Jesus can make us righteous, and not ourselves. I hope you take the time to read this brother. God bless, and take care.

I just listened to your thoughts on this in full and I have to admit I expected you to be more reactive and uncontrolled, based on the titles and what not. I actually respect the way you dealt with this and you're a good man, I respect that you have the ability to think through what it is you heard before reacting. Even if you disagree still, it's all good, but the way you dealt with it is very mature and you won a supporter from me (not that you were asking for it or need it).

I don’t think he had to “flip tables”, but articulating and debating ideas allows for a conversation and growth on both sides. That was a good opportunity to add some value and different perspective on the other side of the coin, especially realizing that some of the pastor’s there had one opinion. We can correct with love, debate ideas and still be brothers in Christ at the end of the day.

After the unborn baby is dropped to the floor, the person then stomps it to death. Or picture black babies being sold to alligators. A lot of people think they know exactly what they would say or do in these situations and that is so wrong. There are many times where I have reacted exactly how I think I should have, but I look back at so many times where I stood stunned, or taken of guard or just nervous that I regret and wonder why I didn’t say this or that after a racist or misogynistic or unjust statement. We don’t realize that our reactions can also be affected by mood, health/ mental situations we may be dealing with, etc. I even remember being so nervous talking one time that I realized I had not even heard what the person before me said to the same question . That made me even more nervous and I was so scared that maybe I just repeated the same thing or didn’t acknowledge something really important. I don’t care how many times you have stood in front of a crowd, it can still get to you. The blame is entirely on Louie. I am so sick of stupid non apologies. Louie needs to grow a spine, mature and not be terrified of his own audience. Acknowledge your mistake to the fullest and say what is wrong and right. Louie left such a vague non-apology meant to not rock the boat. Even the discussion of slavery was him trying to address a serious problem by not really addressing it.

@@benadek6703 you chill on that. Know ye not friendship with the world is enmity with God. You know mainstream.... Like everything that allowed lecrae to be successful, namely proclaiming Jesus on wax and in interviews, he no longer does on wax or in interviews because he does projects with artists whose fans don't support lecrae's views. You know boldly speaking about injustice and about how some pastors ignore it while preaching prosperity; then remaining silent in front of the pastors and representatives that call good evil and evil good because they are in a position to benefit. You know mainstream like signing with Columbia records that had artists including Lil nas X, Tyga, 50 Cent, and Michael Jackson (channelled nephilim). That kind of mainstream. Just because lecrae got enough money to setup a non-profit or a courtesy group doesn't make make him being lukewarm or a secret agent more palatable. Then again that is what people associate with folks of faith. Silence in $tride once they making money on the ride.

To relaxed to study to word of God .. being to relaxed and not standing up for the truth of God, Being to relaxed and not picking up our cross daily, Being too relaxed and letting the world influence the church instead of being the salt and light to the world. Don’t tell me to relax because as followers of Christ we have plenty work to do . You can "check" someone without disrespecting them Lecrae. If you don't know how, or are too afraid, to effectively communicate or articulate your thoughts in situations where you feel inferior, just say that.

Lecrae let us down. He had the opportunity to speak up but decided not to rebut the offensive statement because he did not want to jeopardize the money he receives directly and indirectly from that community. Lecrae the Lord is talking to you and you are not listening. You cannot have two masters. If you want mammon you can have it as well as the price that comes with it.

millenialbroadcast you sound just like the people who hated Jesus for spending time with sinners and not saying things the way they wanted him to. You’re not the authority on how to “stand up for faith.” You and everyone else takes scripture out of context anyway. You cant see totalitarianism and tribalism in all of the “Christian” subjects. You, like everyone else was taught to read the Bible with their own agenda, not respecting the original language and the original message anyway. You and all of us who want to know what the Bible actually says has a whole re education to embark on before we can cast judgement on others. If you love God, act like it. Worry about your own relationship. Get your knowledge right. Responses like yours make others not even want to hear about Jesus.

@@ricardovera116 - Wow, you took away so much more than I wrote. I am not perfect nor do I expect anyone else to be. However, I do think that Lecrae bent over backwards to excuse that pastor's statements. I disagreed with his rationalizations and felt that he avoided criticizing the CEO of Chic-Fil-A and that pastor not because of his desire to evangelize sinners but to continue to receive their financial support. He compromised his values for the bag. If you look at him you can see it on his face.

@@ricardovera116 - Believe it or not I am a huge Lecrae fan and have all of his albums. But I have seen him shift and become more eager to be conformed by this world and accepted by larger audiences. And these changes will not serve him well in the long run. But as you said, I'm on the outside looking in and cannot prove my theory about why he is rationalizing the pastor's statements. Peace and blessings to you and Lecrae.

millenialbroadcast i could’ve asked you what you meant. I attacked you. Forgive me. We must all let Christ change us. We’ve been lied to our entire lives, and we’ve been built up to chase comfort and let our religious affiliations make us think we’re more righteous than we are. I’m changing and I’m trying to understand what I am supposed to for myself, and I find myself being some sort of KZfaq comment executioner in the process lol. It’s wrong. I’m sorry man. Everything that is happening right now is just frustrating, but the only appropriate response for me is to put my head down and learn. Change and humble myself. Peace and blessings to you as well. I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you and I so we can be who Christ taught us to be.

It’s bad when a man can’t speak up when it’s time to, yelling at the police and that could have went very bad for him but won’t express yourself to another man because you are to scared to speak up when it’s time! All kinds of excuses for not talking a stand with another man. All he had to do was express his opinion, not flip over a table... we can’t even count on people in position with a so called voice....smh we are in bad shape!!! No wanted you to flip a table over just speak up and counter him with the truth! So If he sit there and call your wife out of her name would you speak up or be caught of guard, we didn’t talk when the camera went off, he gave a hand shake and that was that! Can’t take him seriously. All this talking and had the man face to face. Speak up and you don’t have to flip the table over to do so.

To all the folks in the comment section sharing their bias opinion like I'm going to share mine, you have to realize that from Lecrae's stand point he did the right thing. For having a "intelligent rebuttal", is useless. He was speaking with a person that has their mind made up about life. Which him giving his thoughts on how someone outside his race should view what they say as ignorant is a waste of time. I also do not knock Lecrae for trying to see it from a different perspective in which still you can see by how he expressed the situation it clearly bothered him. Which he said to prove my point, "he should have known better", because of his experience. Lastly I doubt anyone where would be in the position he was in to even address that man in a matter in which could paint "black people" in a postive tone any better then he did by subconsciously remaining in frame. Now with that being said, imma go back to minding my business.

Lecrae has an identity crisis. If you look at past conversations with "white evangelicals" he speaks proper and educated. But in interviews like this, he switches it up to appeal to his predominantly hip-hop audience, which is mostly black folks. He wants to play both sides to appease them. He boasts about protesting with BLM, but he was once doing apologetics with Ravi Zacharias and "Christian" concerts with Louie Giglio's church (Passion Conference) and had a following with that crowd. Which was predominantly white folks. He claims to not know Louie Giglio very well. But as a Christian myself, trust me, he knows Louie Giglio and Dan Cathy very well. He just folded when the moment called for him to be genuine because he had no time to think out his answer when his back was against the wall. But that shows you where his heart is really at. Christ said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. And Lecrae showed it by the words that he spoke.

Very sad and yet interesting interview. I never liked his music when he first appeared in Christian circles. The cross-over he made really made him fade out of Christian interest. Also, he comes across with the mentality of being a “social justice Christian”. No such thing. No Christian protests law and order. Further, since when are there two audience groups in Christianity? Or more than one audience? There lies the semantics of segregation. Finally, beautiful feet are not of those that just “hang out” with the unrepented. They are actually of those who preach the gospel continually. If he mixes with those crowds, why do they still keep him around? Preaching the gospel will make people uncomfortable because it convicts of sin.

There are just too many landmines now days and people say some crazy stuff! I don't know what I would have sad to that guy, I would like to believe I would have corrected "white blessing", but sometimes people take me off guard! Just another example of how white people should listen to black people about race, instead of trying to lead the conversation.

Lol what's wrong with that? We as Christians were never meant to get comfortable here if it's not resting in the word of God and his promises. We as Christian's need to constantly be checked and humbled because it prepares us more for Christ. I pray lecrae continues to operate in the light. But soon he is gonna realize in order to achieve that he has to, as well as me, and we all need to understand that less is truly more. More means selling out... But less forces you to appreciate things more. Brigngs out the things that makes us valuable in the eyes of a God. Now we understand why when Jesus said sell your stuff, pick up your cross and follow me and why so many people refused walking away sad.
