The iron pan is the key to understanding the prophecy. The IRON PAN represents the army of Rome surrounding the city with a wall of roman shields. The starting point of the count of the 390 days is the year 454 BC. In this year GOD marked the year with a blood moon tetrad on May 6th 454 BC. The decree to rebuild the city and the walls issued to Nehemiah on Nissan 14th. The city being restored was a uniting action taken on by both Israel and Judah (New Start). Now the math 454 BC + 390 years = 63 BC the year that the IRON PAN Pompey sacked Jerusalem and turned the city over to the Pharisees. Now what do we have here? We have established the starting date to Daniel 9:24 Math again using the Nissan 14, 454 date. 454 BC + 483 years = 31 AD . Now back to Ezekiel 4 and the 40 days. I do appreciate Ralph's observation of the significant epistemological impoverishment that we face in this text as well, frankly, in a lot of the TNK and the so called New Testament. My question is - how does this significant dearth relate to the notion of this set of documents being some sort of reflection of divine inspiration and inerrancy when we don't have any idea even what it's talking about in so many instances? Would such confusion and ignorance really reflect the nature of the creator?

God means what He said, He will bring judgement and He will atone for His people. The Jews missed it when it all happened and here we have scholars and students lost in the same paradigm because like the Jews their eyes are fixed on 'a people' rather than God and His Presence.
