► THE PROF: Your lecturer is Dr. Brian Warriner. He has been an active clinician and teacher in the University of British Columbia for years. He has published in various medical journals and was head of different anesthesiology departments. Dr. Warriner’s research is focused on the use of blood substitutes in surgical patients, the value of preoperative beta blockers, the reversal of muscle relaxants and the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting.

Great attempt to introduce basics of anesthesialogy to beginners, only an expert can organize to this level, my question is narcotic analgesic ,propofol plus muscle relaxant all in favour of respiratory depression what' d u suggest to prevent that unfortunate event

No doubt it's a great lecture.l wanna ask about how to avoid respiratory depression in presence of narcotic analgesic, propofol plus muscle relaxant as these all agents favour that unfortunate event of resp. depression

I say if you want to be in this career field, take the easy way out. Work in an endoscopic clinic and just administer drugs to folks getting a colonoscopy or the like. It’ll be an easy 9-5 job and you’ll make $300,000 a year just asking patients questions and administering a drug or two before their procedure. Forget about major surgeries with general anesthesia!
