LED bulb repair (DIY)

3 жыл бұрынDon't throw away your old led yet it can be fixed. The leds are in series so if there is just one light that is broken the whole like will not turn on. What a waste just put a 600ohm resistor where the blown led is will fix the light.
I found a faster way to repair a broken led bulb, just solder over the broken led no need for the resistor.

Glad i watched , mine was flickering so i took it apart with a razor knife ( for a cleaner put together) and the bad led just plucked away with no problem , i used a soldering iron and put just a little solder onto make the connection , re-installed bulb to make sure it was repaired ( it was ) then took and superglued the plastic globe back on 👍

It snaps back on easy if you didn't damage it taking it off. You don't need glue.

You can make the led lamps immortal by making minor changes in the circuit immediately after purchasing them. I use this method, my lamps never explode. You can watch.

Where on earth are people supposed to get resistors of a certain Ohms, or whatever? Most people do not understand electronics or the specifications of components or where to get them. And they wouldn't go to all the trouble and expense of getting all these things. They would just buy a new bulb. Other videos just say to scotch tape a piece of tin foil in its place.

What happens without Resistor if i use ?

yah you don't need a resistor the light will be brighter but it will not last as long because the leds have more current through them so a simple fix is just short out the bad leds it work fine.

@@turkishwithemre Volts/Current = resistance I think each led was 6V and 30ma should be fine to determine the value

Why not using solder for removing the bad led

the leds would be hard to remove with solder you would need a heat gun as the are surface mount

Without soldering-iron, just short-circuit each dud led with a Circlip (c-clip). Amazon $10 for box of assorted 400 clips. Mini C-clip pliers $10. Why bother to solder bridging resistors? Onboard electronic chip, limits the current.

Why even put the cover back on? it’s just going to hold the heat and make the remaining bulbs burn out quicker while absorbing some of the light, no?

Buying a new one is much cheaper than repair and save a lot of time.

How much is a new one? And people waste tons of time in their lives watching TV or playing video games or yakking on the phone or watching tiktok videos or taking selfies or sitting around drinking anyway. Might as well do something you feel proud of accomplishing.
