The silhouette of a witch flying on her broomstick against the backdrop of a full moon is such an iconic symbol of Halloween. I love your fresh take on this spooky classic, Isaac! I love the idea of hanging the moon in the tree. This would also be cool of doing Santa in a sleigh across the moon. You do an excellent job of explaining everything step by step.

Love the video as someone who makes christmas yard art from plywood. May I suggest you paint all the sides and back as well. Then finish it off with a clear glossy non yellowing finish.

Going to do this...but I am going to put the bolts in the other way so the Witch is easily removable and cut out a silhouette of Santa's Sleigh and align the bolt hole so I can switch them out after Thanksgiving.

I’m an apartment dweller😢 SO my parents let me go wild at the holidays on their house!! And they are on a corner lot so there is this ginormous blank wall facing the road. No windows, nothing. And I’ve been trying to get the “most bang for my buck” (and I need A LOT of “bang” their neighbors take holiday decor VERY seriously) I’m envisioning a scaled up witch/moon on the house with a light shining from the ground… or from behind… THANK YOU!!!

Great project!!! I would do two things different though. If you don't have a tracer projector you can use just a regular projector and put the witch image on a USB. Most projectors will display it using a remote and saves printing it out. Second, I would reverse the spacer caps, the inner edge of the caps may cut into the foamboard. Having them flipped, the top of the cap provides more surface area on the foamboard while the edge of the cap on the other side would affect the plywood since it is rigid.

You should be careful hanging things from an extension cord. The wires can separate inside and cause a fire. Other than that great tutorial!

Why does the witch need to be cut from wood and not foam board?

Foam board is too thick if you use the 2in board and too thin if you use the 1in board

Never tie a tight knot in an extension cord. Zip tie the cord to the rope or paracord and let it hold the weight.
