Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. Bonzo’s drums against Page’s guitar and JPJ’s bass are so badass. I’ve never heard any hard rock rhythm section so funky like in this song. Led Zep are by FAR my favorite of all time, and it’s not even close and I listen to all types of genres of music.

I had played Side 1 about a thousand times, and finally flipped the record over and figured I'd see what was on Side 2. I'd never heard Heartbreaker on the radio, didn't know it existed, and it blew me away. I'm instantly transported back to that day in 1978 every time I hear this.

Fantastic hard-rock song! What a demonstration of Page! And of Plant ! I love also the very heavy section bass-drum, especially the bass, which agrees so much with the rest. It completes perfectly the sound. The very sudden end is excellent too, with this 'Heart...', in reference to the title of the song. One of the most exciting songs of Led Zeppelin, and of all hard-rock songs, all bands mixed. Surely!

If you listened to FM Radio in the 1970s/80s,it was impossible to hear this song without "Livin' Lovin" Maid" directly after it.Was a teen in the 1970s and after the Beatles broke up,Zep WAS the super group to listen to.
