Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Go watch the video of Black Sabbath performing War Pigs live in “Paris” 1970, but it was actually in Brussels, Belgium and not Paris, France Bill Ward on drums is an animal and beats the drums like they owe him money. But anyway, he’s constantly brushing his hair to the side behind his ear whenever he’s got a second, but then he just starts going crazy again, messing his hair up lol

And God was correct. Led Zeppelin is the best band of all time. You will never find a better four band Beatles stand in their Shadow rolling Stones. Wish they could compete but they're not in their league. Led Zeppelin I don't care 100 years from now. Led Zeppelin will still be heard today. Yes, rolling Stones will as well but we all know who is King

Led Zeppelin usually gets a lotta praise but I think something that never gets enough praise is Robert’s harmonica playing. That solo he does in this song is incredible to me
@dylanhealy8126
@dylanhealy8126 Жыл бұрын
Because “When the Levee Breaks” is their biggest song that has harmonica in it. This song is probably their second biggest with it. But tracks like “You Shook Me,” “Bring it on Home,” and “Custard Pie” are not played on the radio like their other songs are, so Robert’s harmonica skills are something really only big fans would know

Wow... I'm a Black guy from Compton, and I LOVE Led Zeppelin! In the 70s I was into Jazz and used to see some of their stuff in the bargain bin. At that time I wasn't into them. Discovered Robert Plant while in the service - one of my nutty room mates was into him. It all fell into place after that. Wish I would have grabbed that album I saw in the bargain bin at Sears in the 1970s ( Hindenberg on cover )... Might be worth some money today! LOL

Soul doesn't discriminate. Matter of fact, Zeppelin was heavily inspired by the African blues rhythms of the South. Their song When the Levee Breaks is actually about how flooding along the Mississippi River led to a lot of heartbreak for newly freed slaves, which led to a lot of great music.

I'll make a serious argument thatbthis is Zepp's best ever song. Robert's vocals are amazing, and his harmonica stunning. Jimmy's guitar was as good as any. JPJ's bass could vibrate the dead out of their graves. Bonham's drum work was his best ever. Normally, when you use the phrase abiut 'the whole is greater tgan the sum of its parts' it means a group of sub-par musicians are better together than individually. With Zepp, it was fiur amazing musicians who were stunning when they came together.
