Ty JB for another great reaction. Born in 1960...13 yo in 1973...Led Zeppelin was IT for me. Loved alot of other great music BUT LZ was tops. No close second...well maybe PINK FLOYD. Allman Bros werent too shabby either. Glad my fav choice then has stood up to the test of time. LZ remains my fav band of all times. Many people have argued against LZ as being the best, against John Bonham being the best, etc etc. I say F them. These 4 guys together were the best rock band ever. Most combined talent period. Most innovative and way ahead of their time. They did it THEIR way. Won't argue for Bonham on this thread. Done that too many times elsewhere BUT let me say...HE created the driving sound for LZ. Not Carmine, not Buddy or any other drummer that can swing sticks. JB did...he created the drums in their songs. He created the sound when he hit his kit...he created the sound when there was no hit. No one else. He did so...perfectly. LZ would not be LZ without John Bonham. That is why when there was no John Bonham, there ceased to be a LZ. Perfect as well. He the man period. Let me clear something else up...LZ wasn't the first metal band. No ...was not. Why? Cuz they weren't a fkn metal band. I lived thru the era. Twerent ANY metal bands then dips*its, so stop saying it. Dont care where u read it or from whom u heard it. If Rolling Stone magazine said it...then the columnist was also a dips*it and wrong. Even read somewhere where some ahole said Helter Skelter by the Beetles was the first metal song. Gimme a frkn break. Led Zeppelin was Hard Rock. That's what IT was called and it was named accurately. U dont call Punk...Pop do u? No u dont. So pls, stop with the insane METAL label for LZ and start talking from the front side of ur bodies. TY. Mark

One of the greatest musical masterpieces ever created by man. Four world class performers together and at their peak. Amazing vocals, amazing guitars and a genius and beast of a drummer driving it all home. This is the pinnacle of artistry.

this is black music coming through an english rock filter which is their tribute and salute to the blues . just imagine "all last night sat on the levee alone" [just been through a minor flood compared to this ; all your hard work and crops are going to be destroyed and come to less than nothing.you can feel /hear the dispair and hoplessness in the chilling words "cryin won't help you praying won't do you no good " ].you'd have to have lived through something like this to write lyrics like that , so simple but when you unpack the heart wrenching depths .it hit's you right in the heart . and zep just added more punch with the music because the lyrics already had everything .

Bonzo sat in the bottom of a stairwell in an old manor house in England, microphones all the way up. Then they recorded the rest of the music and slowed it all way down before Robert Plant sang his vocals.

Hi James! This classic track is about the Mississippi Flood of 1927. Better get new headphones btw. I agree, I love that You Tube has introduced you and many others to great classic music you may never have heard otherwise. That video is of the Hindenburg, the famous German zeppelin (aka blimp or airship) that exploded in flames in 1937 in New Jersey.
@bobschenkel7921
@bobschenkel7921 Жыл бұрын
The Hindenberg shown at the beginning of the video was owned, designed and built by Count von Zeppelin, and his family was originally very happy the band took their name. Until, when Led Zep did a gig on the Continent and a member of the family attended the show, when she saw the cover of their first album, and the flaming Hindenberg, she was NOT happy, to say the least. One of the best drum sounds ever achieved, the front hall of the Headly Grange farmhouse, and we still get to hear it all these years later. Thank god for audio tape.

It also references The Great Migration of the early 20th century, where 10s of thousands of black southerners migrated out of the south, many to Chicago, because that's where the jobs were. Towards the end when Plant sings "going to Chicago," that's what he's talking about. Many of the migrants simply followed the Mississippi River north and wound up in Chicago. It's why the city became a hub for blues music.

Sir This is the cover based on the original by Memphis Minnie way back in the 1930s it’s based on the actual event with the actual Levi broke and Mississippi and it killed thousands of black workers below so this is based on a real story I suggest you listen to the original it’s just a simple guitar and it was recorded on a 78 RPM record

Just keep doing what you are doing. People will see you are genuine. And you will get there. I can see a fake in 10 seconds. But it is nice to see someone who gets it. Even if it's not their "music type". They can see the talent. That's magical.
