I was a little disappointed with the production and mixing in the chorus, like everything else was nice then we get this dry bass drop, and there wasn't even bass in the chorus it was all just sub. So I tried to rearrange it and add some stuff to distract from the emptiness. Also had to sacrifice some parts.
Also note that this is not supposed to disrespect the producers who worked hard to produce this song. Cuz apparently rearranging a song to my liking is "disrespectful". I also do not claim this is the better version because I don't speak for everyone and everyone has a different taste.
Fingers crossed this won't be taken down.

I think the messiness in structure of the original song was definitely intentional, it was CRAZY from start to finish and serves the purpose of a crazy and overwhelming roller coaster ride I can see myself vibing to this rearranged verison but it's just I respect the original intention of the producers and SM in the original track alot because it's not an easy path to choose and they chose it

Well,the whole concept of the song was a circus theme and "Zimzalabim" is basically another word for "Abracadabra" which is the word magicians say when they are doing magic tricks or casting a spell.

the whole song was kind of fun but messy all over and honestly criticism of it isn't disrespecting RV or the producers... idk why all the main videos of mvs are always overwhelmingly positive. kill this love was also really dry for me other than the classic blackpink sound but apparently it was a bop so...

exactly. there's nothing wrong with criticism but most people avoid criticizing in the comments as fans just end up attacking them with comments such as "you're just a hater" "kill yourself" "if you don't like it why are you here"

90% of the comments come from the fans. Of course it will be filled positive/defense stuff. And I agree with KTL. YG hyped it up as being more banging than DDDD but the chorus lacks energy and the last part was cringey imo.

@@pinkmilkshake5161 for me at least it gave me headaches due to the weird noise thingy that's apparent during the dance break. but for some it's probably the way that the song was arranged. some parts aren't cohesive, being all over the place (eg. from an energetic dance break to a more soothing bridge, a drastic transition) the main "problem" for some is that the song is that it doesn't really flow well. it's unpredictable, both good and bad. but thats what makes red velvet, red velvet! you can't find any song like zimzalabim anywhere else (exception of sm idols, thought i may be inaccurate) and they're growing both as idols and artists

This version is really interesting and super well made, but it’s also just a lot more normal than the original. Makes it the classic verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus structure. I really love the fact that in the original it doesn’t have such a clear cut structure. Either way, the individual parts of the song are amazing either way you arrange them, but I like the fact that RV went more experimental for their title track.

I love the original how it is, but THIS is how it seems like it was supposed to sound. So I'll be downloading this version, and the Normal version. This is literally how I thought it should have been so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD! But [in my opinion] the original song is much more unique and different, and that makes it really beautiful! Though, I'm not saying that your rearrangement is bad. Both the original and your rearrangement is great! I just tend to like the different and unique one better, which is the original one ☺️😅 [EDIT] Btw don’t stop what you’re doing! That 'nananana' things at the end is very reminiscent me of 'oh oh oh oh eoh' from I Got A Boy by Girls Generation. Very SM Ent. sound/ style. And this song structure is very similar with Colors by LOONA. Most of producers put dance break before the bridge/ breakdown but for this songs I think it's sounds better to put the dance break right after the bridge/ breakdown because in the last chorus they use the same bass from the dance break.

Also I just realized that the original put the bridge AFTER the dance break but you put it before and I LOVE YOU FOR THAT! It made the bridge feel less random. I hope you don't get hit with copyright for this. Doing the lord's work (or the universe if you don't believe in such lol)

I'm a reveluv, but that chorus is clearly in need of some bass or at least something. As it is, it's just too plain. The chorus of a song is the most important part of the song; you can do everything right, but if you can't do the chorus right, the whole song will be judged poorly. No disrespect to the producers and RV, but the chorus here is an improvement.

SirSX3 hi I’m coming with peace, but I think the original Zimzalabim verse was never meant to be the “most important” part, since they all build up to the last part of the song (nanana part). Zimzalabim is a spell word, and they’re using it just like a spell because at the end of the song we’re all hypnotized, entering a whole new upbeat world.

I liked how it was being messed in the original. That's why SM Artists are different from others because they break the kgroup generalization. Also the minimalist chorus. It was really a bop. It's much better if the sound stay the same because it will make you feel the 'roller-coaster' ride with the sudden changes. But honestly, I loved this arrangement. It is more hyped but still, the original is the best. More power to you!

Yes, this is more better. Placing the dance break after the bridge part of the song than making the dance break before the bridge. Most songs have the dance breaks after the bridge or is the last part of the song. Job well done! This is so lit...🔥🔥🔥

I already love the original but this is MUCH better for me. The editing is almost flawless, the structure is much more confortable to listen to and the background noises you added are AMAZING. This is the best rearrengement of a kpop song I have ever seen.

The only rearranged version I'll like, but no seriously I knew this song felt all over the place (which is probably what they meant to seem like you're going on a crazy rollercoaster ride). All the parts in the song are really good, the concept was on point but it just sounded a bit weird putting all of those parts together. So yeah I like this version better but I have respect for the original of course.💖

It's sad that some say that this is way better. Both have their own charm to the song. This was a good rearrangement since you added those sweet beats and it's like other kpop music. But to all that say this SHOULD HAVE been it, well it would be too predictable and where's the red velvet in there if it's not weird? Both have the charms, tho you should be a producer of some kind of music :)

By all that is holy, that transition from bridge > dance break > outro blew me away. As much as I've grown to like the original, this one has a far more satisfying buildup and payoff from the get-go.

This deals with a lot of the things I felt made the original feel "empty". Great work, as always. This version feels like it has more structure even though it's shorter? The original just seems to come and go with no highlight or main point, except the slower part before the dance break.

I really enjoy this! Usually with rearrangements I tend to like them but not LOVE them because they're usually a huge change from the original. But this one has a very subtle yet changes SO much. I enjoy both the original and this one for their own reasons!

I like the original but to me this is superior. I like the incorporation of the plucks in the intro rather then a whole seperate part, I like the additions to the chorus which makes it more powerful and I like that you took out a bit of the 2nd verse. I also like how u go straight to the sang bridge and put the drop after because that makes the last Zimzalabim chorus which is mixed withthe drop seem even more loud and powerful. Overall love this
