Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

So true. I was a teenager in the 70's and I feel luck to have experienced Led Zeppelin in my formative years. I truly believe that Rock and Roll bands will never be this awesomely inspiring ever again. The entire music world is more about business and less about talent. Sad but true.

Having seen them live, they truly involve the audience in such an emotional way, that every note, lyric seems to be geared towards each audience member individually. They are one of the 90's band's that cared for their audience. I'm lucky to be around for such talent. Thank you for helping me through my teens, for all the "creeps" that were mistreated. I am still listening to this jam in 2024 !!I was born in 1972, so I'm Gen X, but my mom had this album, and she loved the song Kashmir 😊. So when I was 10 years old, they played the opening of this song in my favorite movie , Fast Times at Ridgemont High , I liked to die!! I was so happy!! When we my sister and my mom and I finished watching the movie. My mom grabbed the album and played Kashmir and me and my mom and sister danced and sang the song before we went to bed. Thanks, Mom, for opening up my ears to all kinds of music 🎶!!❤❤❤

Never be a sound like this band, never another scream like Plant, Page's riffs timeless, Paul's bass runs and keys, Bonham's percussion driving it. His son did him proud here.

Aptly put. They did something to the genre not many other artists have done. They put their own symphonic twist on it, but didn’t alter it so much they changed the genre entirely. They kept the core parts of it uncompromised.
