@hoi hoihoi I'm sorry that your father was issued a "bunk" rifle, but the LE 4 fires one of the most accurate and flat flying cartridges ever made, the British .303. Maybe his barrel was bent, or maybe he was not a good shot. It's hard to believe the Dutch Army allowed rifles in the barracks at that time, generally most Armies of the western world required that you turn in your rifle to the armory for inspection and maintenance when exercises and training were over. Maybe the rifle your father was issued was a reflection on the Dutch Army not knowing it's ass from a hole in the ground and bought a bunch of discarded weapons for cheap. Watch this video if you doubt its accuracy, the one they fire in this video is even missing some rifling in the barrel: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbigetehsL69gYk.html

Awesome video. I just bought one of these, now only missing the No.4 Mk1 T to finish my collection. You should try, not necessarily master, but try the British style of Forefinger & thumb on bolt, while using your middle finger to fire. It is a weird thing to get used to, but cycling is faster & kinda fun
