I discovered Lee hi because I was watching duffy’s mv for the billionth time and the comment section was just pouring with comments about Lee go’s cover so I went to check it out, then I saw this song then inwatched The Whole kpop star season 1 and then She’s basically my top three even now. My top 3 females in Korean music are Lee hi, hwasa, yerin baek (order depends on albums that get released and such) For me, they just sing songs in a way that I wish I could in styles that I love. They speak to me. The fact that Lee hi was freaking 16 and really had this much soul in her sound was insane

She was definitely talented right from the start. If I had just heard this without being told who it was, I would have guessed Lee Hi. She’s had that style, vibe, feeling, whatever you want to call it, all along.

She was actually runner up for K-Pop Star 1. I need to go back and watch it to see how she ended up losing. Though I know the winner is amazing too.

Lee Hi was so cute and awkward during this time. She made her debut very shortly after her run on a survival show so she actually spent no time in the KPOP training system. She lacked the polished dance and stage skills, but her voice is what carried her to the very top. Rich, warm and soulful. She's continued to age like really fine wine.

I also like her songs collab with epik high. Her voice is very unique. She was the 1st runner up btw

Lee Hi was on Kpopstar season 1 and finished second. Akdong Musician (AKMU) was on Kpopstar season 2 and won. They both signed with YG Entertainment. They performed a lot together and became best friends. They even created a sub-group called Hi Suhyun and released a single called I'm Different. I hope you check out that video if you haven't already.

Lee Hi is so talented 😍

I remember when this debuted! I can’t believe I’ve been following her for TEN YEARS now! I’ve literally watched her grow up from a little kid on Kpop Star to today! Even though she debuted before Mamamoo; I would still love to see her do some kind of collab or performance with them!

Oh my god this is a blast from the past!! This song is like 10 years old and I haven't listened to it in a hot minute but I do remember being in highschool seeing her debut and being like whoa she's like the coolest ever and super talented. Solo artists that aren't from groups are so rare or atleast from big companies. So technically Lee Hi was 2nd place on the show, Park Jimin/Jamie who sang Pity Party was the winner, there were some other notable people from their season like Baek A Yeon (my ballad queen) who became a solo artist under JYP and Jae from Day6 the band under JYP was from that season and a member of YG's boy group WINNER was apart of the show as well.

This is a 16yr old?!? WTF?!? I was listening thru buds, had the phone in the back pocket. As soon as the vocals hit I had to double ck that this voice was her at that age. Yeah she could've been a 40 yr old woman at a jazz/soul bar. The mv concept was def like a musical movie, kinda like a west side story visually (I haven't really seen any musicals so I'm referencing the last commercial I saw 😅). I'm trying to think of someone she reminds me of but can't put a finger on it yet. I am absolutely enjoying your deep dive into her. Great reaction.

This was the talk of the town. I remember everybody talking about it so I listened to it and I was hooked. But YG didn't gave her much to do. You can see she was a rookie in the MV, she was really awkward and her expressions were non-existent. But that voice! Amazing.

This song was released 10 yrs ago, she was so young!

I rec watching some of her performances on Begin Again! My fav is Rose. It really shows how her voice and style matured.
