i know mvs can be interpreted differently but i took it as a message of being your own angel. only you know the hardships and pain that you go through. as hard as it is, sometimes you just have to remember to take care of yourself through the hardships and pain, even when it’s hard. as someone with anxiety and depression, this song feels like a warm hug and pinch of the cheek-a reminder that things will get better.

In my opinion, the meaning behind the music video is that every child or teenager who suffers, has an angel taking care of them. This angel is the adult version of themselves. It's them but adults. We can't see them but they are next to us holding our hand and telling us it's going to be okay. Just like the scene where Lee-Hi sits next to the little girl, the adult version of every child/teenager who suffers is right beside them keeping them company whether it is a sleepless night or a very bad day. Thank you Lee-Hi for another masterpiece. You truly inspire the world.

Lee Hi explained the MV on Ph-1 Seoul food Visual Radio: ‪She said the girl in the beginning in black and white dress (her current self) was making a bad decision (ending her life). So the angel version of herself goes back to the past to make good memories with the same girl (her younger self) in order to comfort her. So in the end her current self decides not to go through with it. So all 3 girls in the MV was actually her. She saved herself. ‬

No one will probably see this but I remember when the summer this song came out. I went straight to KZfaq and checked out the MV. And after that, I was obsessed with this song. I had it on every playlist and wrote down every piece of lyric. This song really resonated with me in a way that I can’t describe, but it leaves me warm. I can’t say things have gotten much better since this song come out and thins maybe have gotten worse in some ways. But the fact that I’m still here means that I haven’t given up and alone is enough for me to hope a little bit more. I usually read the lyrics to this song during hard nights and let it comfort me. I hope one day I will look back at this song and feel proud over myself that I’ve overcame the hardships. I’ve considered jumping off my life, but I feel a strange fondness over my body and my life. As scarred as they are, they’re still mine.

This song is basically saying that it is ok to be alone. And in reality, the only person that will save you from yourself, Is YOU. Sure, other people can help you get to the point of being completely healed, but the only person that can decide the final outcome is you. In 2016 her song Breath by K-pop is Angel: Jonghyun won the Digital Bonsang at Golden Disk, she was crying on stage because her friend passed away. YG left her in the past and didnt try to give her a new chance. In 2019 she drop No one with Hanbin and she won 2 awards with this song, after hanbin's scandal she promoted alone, she was alone again. She was alone because Jeonghyun passed away, she was alone because 2NE1 was disbanding and Bom left YG, they were a sub-unit, she was alone because her company forgot her, she was alone again because Hanbin left her because of scandal. I just noticed these details: At the very beginning Lee Hi is at the edge and the siren in the background is the sound of the paramedics, probably to save her from a suicide attempt. So Lee Hi goes back to her childhood and meets her younger self and basically tells her that it will stop and that the things do get better. To love and value herself more. She is her own saviour, her own angel. And so at the end though her problems may still be there, she assures herself that it will end one day, that nothing is forever- not even the pains and the heartbreaks. Honestly I started tearing up the moment she soothes herself and says one day it will stop at 0:49 This is such a beautiful song and I can relate to it so much. I had such a hard time, fighting my own demons and struggling to find meaning in life. I always used to wonder if those thoughts and the hard times would even have an end like other people said. I thought it wouldn't end just for me. That the pain was forever. But I fought through it and sometimes talked it out with friends, mostly wrote my feelings down and just focused on healing myself and I can now say that IT DOES GET BETTER. That those horribly dark days do have an end and sunshine will once again touch our lives. It may get hard again in the future as that is just how life is, but this time I know it with all my heart that it does get better and it does end. I hope everyone will overcome their own demons too one day.
