Isle of Man TT Races

9 ай бұрын

The TT Podcast is back on the Isle of Man, this time to take in the action from the Manx Grand Prix in August.
Chris used his time to catch up with some stars of the TT and was joined by a very special co-host, Lee Johnston.
Before sitting down with their first guest, Lee talked of his traumatic year following a shocking accident at the North West 200 in May. He opened up about his limited memory of the crash and how he has been recovering physically since; his experience watching TT 2023 from afar; and what the future looks like for him when his body fully recovers.
Lee will sit alongside Chris as co-host for the upcoming episodes of the TT Podcast.

Given the severity of his injuries, I'm amazed at how quickly Lee is bouncing back. More power to him!

Men need to talk more about this stuff it can really help. The times I needed to open up I found friends and family incredibly supportive. Reach out fellas don’t suffer in silence. Big big shout out to the NHS for doing an incredible job, the real unsung heroes (I can’t thank them enough).

as an old guy that likes bikes but not a fanatic race fan, I have to say Lee is the one guy I would love to meet, I think he has helped more people than he realises, with his fantastic videos, whishing all the very best

Great to see Lee looking so much better, but it’s a long road for him, his body will heal but it’s the mind that really takes a beating and hopefully with help he will be back to where he was before the crash. GOOD LUCK NEIL

Saw this on TT+ the other day when rewatching races and watched it again here because it’s so refreshing hearing a grounded guy like Lee. Anyone who’s not seen his KZfaq channel, I’d recommend it. Proper funny, modest and open dude 👍🏻

Thank you for these wonderful vlogs…..Lee is a fantastic rider, and fantastic on camera and radio…..he’s great at talking the talk, 👍😜🇮🇲👌. And a big up to Chris for not shirking about asking the questions that have to be asked….he’s really immersed himself into the TT paddock, and genuinely gets the best interviews we’ve seen in years …..👍🇮🇲😉

@@chrispritch it’s true Chris, you have admitted you’re still nervous about how well you are seen doing the job, but hands down, you have done some of the best interviews with top TT riders we have seen for well over a decade, just one example…..Michael Dunlop, he’s never sat down for an hour interview ever….but yourself & Steve …I’ll not leave him out, 😉 got more out of MD in that 2 part vlog, than he’s given in 10 years. Not easy to form friendships with the type of person it takes to do what they do, as we know, most of the lads are very modest and shy about talking themselves up , and err away from in-depth interviews, these podcasts have turned a new era as to the stuff that goes on behind the riders and teams….long may it continue, and thankyou for being you, as a life long TT - MGP fan, that’s also helped in sidecars over the years, hand on heart, I can genuinely say, everyone that I’ve mentioned your name too, when discussing TT etc as a whole….thinks you have done and still are doing a fantastic job….enjoy you’re evening , and I will say hello next year, with Fonzi 🐶 of course 👍😉🇮🇲👌

Whatever you decide to do in the future Lee, you've made your mark on many people with your straight forwardness and honesty, and you should be proud of everything you've achieved, (so far!!) Plus although you may, (worst case for you) end up as a team manager and not the rider, there will be some very lucky rider benefiting from you experience!! Hopefully you'll be involved with the sport in some form or another for the foreseeable future and keeping us race fans entertained with the vlogs.
