And there you go. Like most people, i gave Warrington NO CHANCE and thought Selby would school him. But Warrington proved me wrong. And as much as i think he's a prick i'm pleasantly happy and content with his victory. That was one of the most spirited and brilliant domestic performances i've seen in years. The leeds crowd was rocking and Warrington soaked it all up. I had him winning much more widely than those disgraceful scorecards did and although Selby looked like a shell of his former shell i don't think even the best version of Selby would have got past this version of Warrington today. He looked elite, and that's not an exaggeration by any means. He fought the perfect fight and dragged Selby into his world and what we saw was a lifetimes worth of hard work culminating in an almost brutal and concussive performance by a fighter who isn't known for his punching power resulting in him fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming world champion. Naturally, there's a bunch of fucking morons knocking his victory. "He used his head" blah blah. But if he was cut by those Selby elbows would they have the same energy to criticise him then? No. It was a good tough fight and was fought at such a high pace that Warrington had to get on the inside to find success and the way Selby leans his head forward meant that the cuts were inevitable. There's no foul play. Respect where it's due. Warrington showed he can be hell for any Super Feather in the world tonight.
