Normally the physician will tell you what your cost would be prior to having the procedure done. They would also tell you to expect other bills from the facility, anesthesia, or pathology...... i just got both procedures done and only paid $500 with BCBS. It’s the allowable amount that is what the procedure costs- not the billed amount. That amount can be anything but will always be adjusted to the allowable.
