Don was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease a month after this, which claimed his life two years later. The symptoms started in the early Autumn of 1986.

I think it was around this time that Don Revie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

Unfortunately it didn't go too well after that. I went to the FA Cup semi where Leeds played out of their skins but lost in extra time. I went to one leg of the promotion playoff game against Charlton but Leeds wound up losers again having been minutes away from winning. Around a year after this interview I went to a benefit game for Don Revie who by then was in a wheelchair and not at all well. A few months after that Billy left Leeds after some poor results and around two years after this interview Don died

Don Revie is being polite here but I don't think he ever saw Bremner as management matierial which is part of what tore the team apart in 1974 as he wanted Giles to be manager

Not quite right, as at the beginning of the interview he said he didn't see Billy as management material, as he was too fiery. But once he was doing a good job at Donny he could. You're quite right though that Don recommended Johnny to succeed him when he left in 74. Alas that didn't happen, Clough took over & it was all wrong. After Clough got the sack, our board belatedly offered Johnny the job but he told them to shove it. MOT

@@thaiscottie65 Bremner was probably ok as a third or fourth division manager but in the second he was average but a bit out of his depth.

Probably mid table in the 2nd Division was his level as a manager

@@alanberkeley7282 You may well be right Alan. However he wasn't given the money Wilko was given. When Wilko took over Silver & Fotherby went $h!t or bust. I remember Leslie Silver saying he got sick of his Rolls Royce being vandalised!
