I don't have a problem with that, because with Israel you either have to put the most practical solution for peace first, or feeling sorry for people first, you can't always have both, since the only ones with power are PM Netanyahu or Hamas. And Israel inherently has a self interest to left alone (as they did with Jordan & Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc) Hamas & Iran inherently want to create instability.

Israel is also just doing what King Huisein of Jordan did in declaring war on Palestinian Militants decades ago, EXCEPT Israel does it with LESS Casualties. 30k dead (probably half being Hamas, & lots of involuntary human shields) is tiny out of a population of millions. Hardly a genocide as has been widely accused, except the aid workers (whatever that was).

You missed 2 other ways that corporations are litigating on the public purse. First the courts are paid for out of consolidated revenue with nominal contributions by way of filing fees. Second the amount of court time consumed. Moderately wealthy people have limited funds when ethical lawyers are acting they will do what they can to run the case as efficiently as possible canvassing only those issues they think have a reasonable chance of success so most of these cases run for 1 to 3 days. A corporation with deep pockets, every rabbit hole can be fully explored. How many weeks or months of court sitting time has the 7 vs 10 stoush consumed?

The legal system also has another expense you didn't mention. A court room would easily amount to 7k an hour to sit and probably 4k when not sitting but on the case. No one other than the taxpayer for that.

I didn't know that taxpayer dollars support corporate litigation. Very few payg taxpayers with a mortgage and kids could afford to litigate no matter how much they might be wronged. We get more like US everyday. I remember how we swore in the 80s and 90s we would not adopt US-style inequality and here we are now.

You need to do some research on the Future Fund, read its legislation, it benefits only a very small slice of Australians. Simply put, it funds the generous retirement entitlements of federal politicians and public servants. It has no other purpose. Granted the name sounds like a fund to benefit all, sadly that is not the case

We need indemnity insurance laws for Australian Arms exporters. Such laws would protect Australian taxpayers and shareholders from investment and political decision that made both parties liable; to adverse findings from international investigations of war crimes or human rights violations of third parties. As in the case of Australian made drone components mentioned in complaints regarding violations in Yemen and Israel.

I didn't hear him make comment on the fact she is a woman being the reason for his dislike....quite the contrary. You conveniently omitted the point about her activism and "Invasion" day comments. I'll hazard a guess she is another leader who is incapable of defining a Woman....just what we need. Further, there is nothing wrong with promoting women within the workforce so long as the objective is equality of opportunity and not equality of outcome, as the latter has been plaguing throughout the industry's I work in, leading to the direct discrimination of Men and whoever else fits their agenda so they can achieve their social engineering goals. If you're a proud Australian you'd be on board with the change the date movement. There is no reasonable reason for it not to be changed given the hurt and symbolism the date has for first nations people. Define a woman? Sure. Traditionally someone with predominantly feminine traits but given what we know now about the fluid nature of gender as a social construct... it can be however the person identifying as such feels it should be for themselves.
