It was about time for a test/review of the EZ Grip squeegee. I've been seeing it around a lot lately, both good and bad. My only question is, can it improve my prints?

I just sent a message to Ryonet, asking if they can make these in different sizes. You sold me on the concept, as age is playing dirty tricks. However, I use 8x10 Speedball Frames. I also asked them if they can sell the different durometers as a stand alone product where we can cut our own to the desired/needed size. Thank you Stuart, your videos have inspired me to start screen printing our own boxes for our online brand DollarSeed. I also purchased a heat press, because I was told watching other videos, that you can place parchment paper over the half dry ink to heat and set. Have you tried this method? Would love to get a conveyor dryer, but really am working in a tight space.

The video didn't suck at all! I talked with the owner / inventor, Ron, and he gave some good pointers. They can also save you some coin during screen clean up because you can lay the squeegee down on the screen rather than having to place it all the way down by the screen clamp, or arm if you have side clamps. Therefore you'll waste less ink, and use less ink remover. He's sent us some to review, which I'll do soon. Prints are looking killer Lee!

I've been printing for nearly 30 years. I was trained to pull the squeegee and have never been able to get used to pushing. I've now had both wrists and an elbow surgically repaired, and I'm sure it's because of all the printing pressure all of these years. I'm going to give this a try and see if I can reduce some of the pain that comes from dragging a damn squeegee for a living. Great video!

The flex is because your dominate hand is overpowering your non dominate hand...after a couple hundred prints your pull will equalize and there wont be any more flex. The long posts are to rest your squeegee inside the screen so you're not dragging ink all the way to the back of the screen. I've been using mine for 1.5 years now...the only time I use a wooden squeegee is for pocket prints and sleeves.

AMAZING review as usual. I have 7 in my shop right now . Its literally all I use for full prints. The Ryonet ones hold the squeegees better than the yellow ones. Not sure why. Maybe the mold used to make them is newer. Quick question. When you use the 70/90/70 do your white prints come out a bit less bright? Its seams like the prints come out crisper and more detailed but with white they seam to come out less bright.

Same here, it's all I use now and I can't go back. I haven't really noticed a huge difference but in theory it should be a little brighter with a softer squeegee since it will flex more and lay down a heavier deposit. I should maybe test that for everyone at some point

1)Spine needs thickened, prints were uneven, as you said. I had the same issue. 2) The flood handle needs shortened by about 25mm. I had it tip over, my fault, when I was going to the next screen. If it was that tiny bit shorter, no ink would have gotten on the handle. 3). The angle is a little much, the need to take about 8 degrees out of the squeegee for pushing. It makes the pressure difficult to keep consistent as you get away from your body.

You need to get either temp strips or a donut probe to properly set your dryer up, no 2 dryers will be the same. An IR temp gun can do the trick but they are very inaccurate.
