I bought the TMEZ because I wanted the position alignment system (PAS). That feature sold me. The SWF is a fine machine. It now has everything including automatic tension that the TMEZ has. I talked with the manager at the head office and asked how well it sewed 60 weight thread. He had never tested that but he ordered the needle and thread and emailed a picture. The local sales representative had me visit with the owner of an embroidery business which had a 4 head and the newest single head SWF that I was considering. I actually liked the display better but I like to be as exact as possible with placement. Only a camera, which is in some home embroidery machines, can top the PAS. Oh, I think a company did come up with a camera as an add on.

A laser head will take it to the next level, have always had a thing for appliques and Tajima have them as add ons even for their single head machines. Not to mention multiple single heads can be daisy chained something have seen quite a number of print shops adopting instead of those super bulky multiple heads machines.

The machine is nice, I run a 6 Barudan and a 4 head SWF, and I can tell the difference between the two also. I did notice the two designs are digitized different though. The blue ones text is digitized a hair wider and the fill stitch is at a different angle, the yellow one has more density to the fill stitch too which looks way better that way imo.
@GeraldineBrown-nb3ts
@GeraldineBrown-nb3ts Жыл бұрын
I agree as an experienced digitizer I can tell the tatami on the blue design doesn’t have underlay and has less density, the yellow one has a pattern , also the angle of the stitching is different, so they are not the same design . But I agree the Tajima makes good work .

@@leestuart38 would be very interested in seeing the differences and end results. Maybe create a few stress test designs with design features that test the digitisers to the max? Would also be something you could keep and refer to as a reference piece to find the limit of what your machine is capable of producing - kind of a step wedge exposure test, but for embroidery! Glad to see you've got yourself a quality embroidery machine that can deliver - your whole shop has really come together recently. Congrats Lee

@@jailblazinignition has gone down hill the last few years. If you send out for revisions, they don’t communicate at all, then end up sending the same crap over and over. Plus they’re overpriced even before their new price hikes. We use Digitizing Ninjas, super fast and cheap and will actually rework a design if the sewout is crap. All of these digitizers are running through software now, so it’s all about who gives the best CS.

You didn't really got any issues with the gold on such a density design if this is true the machine is a beast. It's a Rolls Royce under the embroidery machines. Congratulations, on the machine, you will love it.

Zero issues with the metallic on that one. I have the odd thread break with metallic but it's only when it comes off the spool in a knot, so that's not the machines issue. Trying to figure out how to eliminate that.
@alegrasbow
@alegrasbow Жыл бұрын
@@leestuart38 That is the major issue with metallic thread, you get this knots because how the thread comes from the spool, the thread wind's around his self. There are thread stands that spins around how the thread goes from the spool and therewith less knots and less thread breaks.

@@leestuart38 you can tell from the stitching that it’s not being digitized correctly for the machine. I know a ton of people with Melcos that do much more detailed designs no problem.
@leestuart38

@@bhutch216 funny you think that, because it was their own in-house digitizer that did it 😂. I've talked to hundreds that have made the same change, every single one was shocked at how much better it is with a good machine.

The Melco file seems like the density of the black circle is too low. Also a bit of registration problem. Black circle to wide. But the font on the melco looks good, equal to Tajima, in my opinion the font on the melco is a bit better in vertical lines. Look at the letter O and E, there on the Tajima ist not a clear, exact line…

@@leestuart38 I’m not saying Tajima isn’t the better machine but that file is really a simple sew out and it’s just not done correctly. The Tajima isn’t right either with all the gaps in the text fill

As some one who is trying to get into the Embroidery space - can you kindly share how much does a machine like this cost? or how much you spent? I am on the fence between Melco, Ricoma and Tajima. One of the deciding factors is the cost of entry. thanks

I found I have to crank my bobbin tension to 400, run at 850/min and lift my presser foot 3-4 clicks up on my melco, but it puts out super nice hats and rarely has a threat break and once I actually knew what I was doing, never a needle break. Looks like your hat comparison was just a bobbin tension issue on the Melco. Do you still have the Melco? For sale?

cannot find the price of this machine anywhere, only that it's very expensive. If it's more expensive (you probably got it from Tajima for a discount because of the review? Maybe even for free?) you would expect a higher quality. But what is the price normal people would have to pay?

Your melcos are going to be just fine. Do the required maintenance and find a reliable digitizer and nobody will be able to tell what machine did your sewout. I’ve found melcos need a little love when it comes to bobbin tension. My trainer’s machines ran around 250grams, mine runs flats at 350g and hats at 400g.

I have the Tatami SAI, (8 needles) and it stitches wonderful. I never have to change the tension except on 12 weight thread. Hats come out great too. This brand is excellent on very small letters. I'm a small home business but I have done up to 49 hat which I used both 40 & 60 weight thread, without one thread break. I am really thinking of getting the TMEZ to get a larger embroidery field. SWF just came out with an auto tension and pressure foot too. So on paper, looks like the TMEZ only advantage is the position alignment feature which will cost me an extra 10K. I'm gonna check on the stitch quality of the new SWF next. Anyone have SWF KXT 1501model?
