Excellent cabinet design from Taito for this Japanese exclusive. Right-hand controls a mouse and left-hand holds a controller that is similar to a Wii Nunchuck.

As much I dislike the execution for Survivors, I think's pretty cool to play Left 4 Dead 2 in an arcade where a lot of people can see. I can imagine the amusement the players receive as the crowd watches them try and finish The Bridge in The Parish. Also, I know it's six years old, but the only thing Taito did was bring L4D to Japan and, to a certain extent, model the characters as well as add the extra features.

that's pretty much all over the world, mate... here in brazil they barely even care about the machines, they just leave these busted crts and screwed up buttons as is. Arcade machines are dead. Japan is an exception.

since these "arcade machines" run on Windows, can't someone just take the harddrive, copy the game to a PC and run

The HDDs are encrypted. Only the chip on the mainboard can decrypt them in most cases. But as this is by Taito I might imagine it could be possible (considering Taito doesn't do this apparently) . (There are also versions of TGM3 floating around on the net)

Disk is encrypted and also has ATA Lock. Also it has no use for single play as you need to connect to Nesica network or something like that. (unless someone can make a self hosted server for this game... which is very unlikely)

It’s literally just left for dead one and two with no additional modes or maps so their really not any reason why you would want to.

@@JDUU2K actually no the different is the arcade version has more weapons that are not available into the normal version Example: mace, awp, famas, etc

No, they just have a time limit that spawns endless tanks if you don’t drop coins

@@ColtComanche - not to mention the time limit being so slim. I think I remember seeing Swamp Fever having only 500 seconds and you know how chaotic and tedious that campaign was. However, the time limit is off based on this footage so I guess you need to reenter credits is if you die (which I assume will be more prominent during finales).

@@MiekuahProductions - normal (I assume you can select difficulties, I have no idea), but your time is really slim. Remember that the Director would sometimes fuck you over and will give you a crescendo event with a Tank (like in Dead Center), or a Tank in an awkward place. The game also uses the default useless AI so if you’re playing alone, better off killing them and going solo.
