Band BIO:
Aurora Aksnes was born in the Stavanger University Hospital in Stavanger, Norway, on 15 June 1996. She spent her first three years in Høle, a small town where her parents, May Britt Froastad and Jan Øystein Aksnes, had lived for 15 years. In her house in Høle, Aurora developed her taste for nature, singing, and traditional clothing, such as long skirts and hats. Later the family moved further north in western Norway, to a house in the woodlands of the Os mountains, a remote municipality in Hordaland, near Bergen. Aurora has described this place as "There are almost no cars, and the roads are small and bumpy, and there are lots of trees everywhere; it's very quiet, and the internet is bad." She has also compared it to the fictional land of Narnia. When she attended school, her sisters-Miranda (currently her makeup artist) and Viktoria Aksnes (currently her costume designer)-worried that she could be harassed by other students, due to her personality and "weird" way of dressing. "I used to be terrified of people who wanted to hug me," she said. "I did not like to be hugged as a child. And I used to be terrified of one of my teachers at school, but then I met him a few months ago, and it was really nice. It’s weird how things change.
FUN FACTS about band:
- Aurora did not originally expect to perform music professionally, preferring to keep her music private
- Aurora provided backing vocals on the song "Into the Unknown" from the hit Disney film Frozen II
- She cited the French metal band Gojira as her "favorite band" and has attended two of their concerts. She has also praised Mastodon and Refused.
Band Awards:
(2015) EBBA Awards '16 - Album Of The Year: Norway
(2016): Spellemannprisen '15 - Årets Nykommer (Newcomer of the Year)
(2016): Spellemannprisen '15 - Gramo scholarship

Entrancing, chilling, and so sad. But when you think back to being 3-6 years old, your excitement about life and the tiniest things that made you happy, your acceptance of people being people and smiling at everyone, no matter if you knew them or not. Children are not born hating or judging, children have a beautiful joy about life. Thank you guys for reacting to Aurora, she reminds me of a fairy sent to bring us messages ❤️

She is special, and this is my favorite of hers, but there are others that will also get to you. Murder song, from this concert is also very emotional. Her performance of Through the Eyes of a Child, in this concert is also special, but you'd do well to listen to the stripped Vevo version of that one (no instruments at all), to hear the best a cappella song ever cut by anybody alive. My favorite music video of all time, by anybody ever, is her song, The Seed, which is the only thing she has done that I think is better on video than life. Aurora is a fantastic detailist live, so usually that's the way to hear her.

That was good too see. Fun fact she have done several song with this emotion rate. Look at this song acapella. Through the eyes of a child stripped vevo performance, MURDER SONG (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, - Infections Of A Different Kind - HAIK Concert 2019 , AURORA - Animal Soul (Verftet Online Music Festival 2020) , Why Did You Have To Go? (Lyric Video) , Soulless Creatures (Live in Bergen 2020) , Through the eyes of a child -Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht 19/10/2016 , Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) Live at Iceland Airwaves for The Current , Little Boy In The Grass | Mahogany Session and my absolute favourit Lucky in Nidarosdomen these perfromance have the most extremely high emotional point. But in fact she have never done a bad performance and i have seen a ton on tube. Welcome to a wonderful and loving universe.

Aurora is an amazing singer! She seems to me naive and frightening at the same time. Everything is so simple, everything is so sensual. With her whole appearance, she demonstrates simplicity, and her voice strains to the point of trembling. It's so weird. I think she will not leave anyone indifferent to her singing. Your reaction to it, guys, deserves a separate analysis. I noticed how you got into the song, how it took you more and more. You didn't dissect her, she dissected you. It's impressive. A heartwarming reaction from you guys :) thank you!! This is what Aurora said about this song in an interview: "Through the Eyes of a Child is one of the most important songs for me. It's about, the older you get, the more you see, and it's kind of like you miss the times when you thought everyone was nice, and that everything was nice, because it's hard to know all the darkness. Also we have lots of light, and I know that as well. But it's kind of like wanting to go back to the innocence, and see the world through the eyes of a child. It's a very important song for me." And in another interview: “I care a lot about people's inner child and I am very determined to never lose my inner child. I get why we need all these layers to survive. It is a very tough world [and] I think sometimes we forget that child, sometimes we lose it and I think that's a bad thing.” Take care, guys!! :))

A lot of time has passed since the first time I listened to her, and still I can't help but cry. And I'm not talking about teary eyes, I'm talking about full blown ugly crying. I'm a 27yo former hardcore metalhead (I still listen to heavy stuff, but it was EXCLUSIVELY heavy stuff back then), currently long haired, bearded...and I cry, every. fucking. time. Oh and that final line. I've always interpreted it as directed to her (and our) child-self, and it is so beautiful. Haunting, but beautiful. This song is a traumatic experience, in the best way possible
