The embroidered fabric is an antique sandwich wrap Emily era 1920's. It has an oriental Tori gate with trees that then has a Zen garden scene. So it is likely to remind the person eating their lunch/meal to relax as though you are at an Asian park entrance . where you enter through the gate and find solitude and peace at the Zen garden. I found some while living in Japan during the mid 1970's. A very rare find, I am so happy you bought them. They sell anywhere from $7.50 to $20 each.

That little wood candle holder was made by artist Dixie Wajdic. She is from Lakeside Montana by Flathead Lake and these pieces are made from old cedar fence posts. She is very prolific and I would not be surprised if that number reflects it being the 1806th piece she has made.

Without the blue eyes, the head would be too Michael Myers from "Halloween." WITH the blue eyes, however, it's just a goofy head. I know Jesse will find some way to use it in a fun manner. He seems silly like that (in a good way).

I favor the idea of napkins for an afternoon tea, as there were so many of them. I think the embroidery represents a garden structure, probably a tea house. A roofed structure with open air sides that is useful but also provides an eye catching point of interest to the landscape. Always more fun with Jesse around! This is the best series!

When I was 12 years old, I traveled from CA to Idaho with my parents and Aunt/Uncle. We visited a great- aunt there. She showed me how to make little rocking chair with a pin cushion seat out of a soda can. She rolled strips of the can to make quite a fancy looking chair. That was in 1967. Blessings, Janell

Jesse often verbalizes what I am thinking at the same moment. I was thinking “grenade” lamp when he mentioned it. We also, had a wooden salad bowl with 6 matching bowls. These were brought out for special occasions. I love wooden bowls!!

Love the “napkins”, look like handkerchiefs to me. The thin fabric and the needlepoint.

You should just have random Js all over your house. Jesse would feel so loved!

I am loving this series! I love when Jesse comes with you, also. I think the “napkins” are handkerchiefs. They look like the kind my mother and grandmother made before tissues were prevalent (or even invented, lol).

4:13 They no longer teach pottery, enameling, etc. at school anymore. We did it all back then. We were lucky. 11:35 I bought a small furnace and everything to start casting metal and decided not to get into it. Been saying for at least 2 years that I need to sell it. It's never used, except for a mouse that made a nest using the fireproof insulation inside of it. :/ 29:25 I don't remember exactly, but I think that stand is for film or slide projectors. I saw one at a garage sale once and came with something, but can't quite remember what.

Love this series. So glad Jesse suggested. And the Art Deco chocolate pot you purchased at the first store is gorgeous.

They should have named the South Salem Goodwill SoSa Goodwill. You should have bought the 50# concrete head and planted it your garden, let ivy or moss grow over it’s hair. It reminded me of the cover of a William Golding novel.

Jim Beam bottles are so collectible and expensive. My aunt and uncle collected them for 45 years.

@deboramccallum3987 They are. My aunt and uncle have a small apartment above their detached garage that houses the entire collection. The apartment is packed full with a hefty alarm system. haha
