Every chance I get, I buy these games. I have the full series on CDs for their consoles, I have the full series on Steam and GOG, I have the PS3 and PSP "PSOne Classics" versions, and if I find the games on any other market I will not hesitate to buy them again. These games are a genuine work of art and I feel like no other game series has such a passionate fanbase that hold their series in such artistic regard.

rumor says a remake version of legacy of kain is on it's way to be released... they didn't say which one, but rumor says it is a legacy of kain game... Let's hope for the dialogue to be like the original... otherwise it will not be a legacy of kain game

You coulev actualy went into the music player, in the Playstation same place were u can access memory card, leaving the tray open, go to music player. then put the Game CD in and itd let you listen to all the music in the game and even loop it. lol

The writing back then was on another level. The often heated debates between Raziel, Kain, the Elder God, Mobius, Ariel, Vodador, Janos Audron and so on were the true gems of these games. Free will vs. determinism/fate/destiny, shades of good and evil, death and the afterlife/cycle of rebirth, historical paradoxes, etc. These games treated its players like adults and weren't afraid to hit them with pretty heavy and often Shakespearean dialogues. Amy Hennig definitely knew what she was doing back then and was at the top of her game. We need more women like her in the gaming industry, not these political activists that are barely capable of writing Tumblr fanfiction with cheap self-inserts high on copium.

I just noticed something as well, look at how the vampires of Duma feed. The designers modeled them after the European (Armanian, I think) myth called Strygoi. The body shape isn't the same but they both have the same kind of tube that Strygoi myth says they have to suck blood from their victims.

@@backwash69777 I agree, but Melchiar stood quite sane about the changes, about the decay and the corruption and lack of interest of Kain. He longed for release because of Numphrador's corruption. Turel was a coward. Dumah and Zephon stood arrogants and Rahab still blinded by Kain lies and quite loyal. Raziel wasn't a saint either. He had no mortal fear in his ressurected state and mocked all his brothers and killed them in blind rage. He was arrogant like this even as a Sarafan when he boasted his mighty for killing Janos.

I played it. I played whole "Legacy of Kain" series. But Soul Reaver is best out of them, in my opinion. Imagine revisiting all this location with current technology :)

Gotta admit, besides story, every LOK falls off in gameplay terms compared to SR1. That damn game didn't had loading screens, back in the day that was nearly a miracle.

Well it did have one- when you died in spectral realm and went to Elder. But that is beside the point. I really wish to see this game as it supposed to be- cut content, new "old" ideas like "Forsaken" for example. One theory says they suppose to be vampires on human side, other that they were hunters capable of chasing after Raziel into spectral realm. Turelim territory. Pinacle of Silenced Cathedral. Ariel Reaver. Spirit Forges. More glyphs. And most important: complete story. That would be awesome, and with today graphic, capability of having gigantic world, there could be so much more potential to sort of "mainstream" this game. I know old guard is pissed off in the same second i propose to make anything "mainstream" like better combat, some fun mechanics and stuff, but i do realize that just for a few thousands of old fans, they will not make another game. They need new ones

That same thing you're describing was on Square Enix minds, actually, they planned the reboot of an old saga, between Tomb Raider and LoK. Still don't know why you choose Lara Croft over the mothefucking Scion of Balance though.

Remaster yes. Remake is ruin it.

Simple LoK's story its hands down one of the best stories ever told in gaming. Can it be improved with modern graphics and screen play? Absolutely. The only way a remaster would be accepted by the fans is: 1. The dev team wont touch ANY of the story. They can do small changes when makes sense but NO major rewrite of characters, motivations etc.( and for the love of god dont modernize it with modern stupidity) 2. The dev team wont deviate from Nosgoths tone or aesthetics. 3. This is an optional thing. IF Amy Henning is actively working with the dev team or as a story advisor it will automaticly get fans hopes up. After all no writer understands the timeline of HoK better than its original writer. 4. If they dont want to use the original voice acting they better find the best replacements for the OG actors or people are gonna notice it instantly. This is why its so hard makeing a remaster/remake of HoK WITHOUT comepletly leaving behind the original fans. The dev team also wont have much creative freedom with it outside of improveing the combat system. If they frick up anything else the og fans will notice it and wont even buy the game.
