Hey there! Mod author here :D just stumbled on your video randomly. Thanks foo the great overview and for your impressions. Lots of fair criticisms to take on board for sure but also wanted to give some more insight and perspective on a few things: Much Ado About Snow Elves: This is actually a mod incorporated by Little Barron... I actually never reversed the scrambled dwemer and snow elf wisp voices lol, interesting knowing what they actually say. Akatosh/Lorkhan/ and the Chim-el Adabal: The crux of the lore in Legacy around shattered legacy is that Akatosh is actually a mash up god; he was literally created by the Muhrakahti (sp) selective under the Allesian order. They merged aspets of Aka with Shor in order to purge the elven Auriel from the god of time in their pantheon in order to appeal to the nords to join their empire, so Akatosh is very much a conflicted entity and literally is a combination of Aka and Lorkhan. The theory that legacy obviously adopts is that the Chim-el adabal was a drop of lorkhan's blood that feel into an ayleid well to form the red diamond, and Akatosh filled it with his blood (the variant canonical telling is that the gem was made from lorkhan's blood and Akatosh FILLED it with his own. So the gem represents both Akatosh and Lorkhan. This all goes to supporting the theory that the last dragonborn is the last Shezzarine and is likely also possibly Shor themselves. So the dragonborn is a reflection of that merged aspect of Akatosh+Lorkhan (Dragon soul and Thuum). This actually supports the claim you perceived from Auryen about how gods are created by people, however, that's not what Auryen was claiming. He was merely claiming that it's because of worship that the gods are given power in this world. That's why the Thalmor are stripping Talos worship in order to diminish his actual power. The will of the living is what gives aedra and daedra their sway on the universe and since the creation of the mundus is the only way that the Aedra can gain power since almost all of theirs was spent to create the physical world. Just like with all TES lore though it's left both vauge and conflicting to where you can certainly tell a story with a variant concept that still makes sense on many levels without outright conflicting. "All things are true, even the falsehood... ESPECIALLY the falsehoods" - Urag Gro Shrub. Let's also remember with the timey whimey business that are dragon breaks, with the warp in the west in particular, we have 6 different parallel but all true timelines that resulted from the choices made at the end of that timeline, so there's much that can be drawn from from any and all of those and just adds to the richness of interesting quantum story telling. As for back tracking, a few of the dungeons were provided by contributed content, but some of it is my own maniacal designs. Windcalled Pass in particular I am revising in V6 to have it simply progress gradually and provides checkpoints accessible by map stations throughout the excavation to make it quicker to zip back to where you left off, so should address the monotony there.

I like how it seems that you are still carrying the various journals and diaries from Vigilant with you while covering this mod.

Also i like how Legacy of the dragonborn has compatibility patches for a bunch of popular mods and adds museum displays for them. Vigilant is also one of those mods. I like to think that the only thing keeping dragonborn sane in coldharbor is the thoughts of all those displays he can fill once he gets back. Dragonborn's sigma mindset keeping him alive in the most harshest place entire existence has to offer.

Banger vid as usual. I love legacy, but I think it shines most when viewed as a "vanilla +" addon and while being very cautious of some of the quest. The criticism people have about "how and why would ALL these artifacts show up in skyrim" is valid, but I think the interesting weapons and fun collection side activity it adds is is worth a bit of immersion breaking. However, the questing is...as you said, enthusiast to say the least, not to mention some of the actual quest are just straight annoying. I get it makes some sense to have a massive labyrinth with multipul floors and all in dwemer ruins, but did it REALLY need to be that big? It really feels like someone wanted to make an Indiana Jones movie but forgot to give alot of thought as to how well that would transfer into gameplay. The "find key to unlock door" stuff you mentioned was very much a massive annoyance, only outshined in annoyance (for me at least) with the number of artifacts you NEED to find to do any of the guild quest. While for some people im sure its a non-issue, I have a bad habit of starting a new game every time I add a new quest mod or decent sized overworld changes just to be sure nothing goes too wonky, which makes alot of the "collect 500 items for the museum" quest a massive hassle. It also dosent help that even when your on the grind for artifacts, alot of them are locked behind needless or tedious gates either through the main story, or faction quest, ect. Plus, when I go asked "hey Auyrn where is my next artifact" and he goes "oh just go pick up a fish", its a bit deflating. Alot of the stuff like pelts/ores/ingredients/ ect should never have gone in the quest for artifacts. Im hopeful the quest structure will be better with the next part of it all in odyssey of the dragonborn.

I’ve tried playing Legacy and Moonpath, and just couldn’t get into them, so this video was great for showing me what I had missed. I have also Just finished wheels of lull, like two weeks ago so I’m looking forward to your video on it. (Edit 2 months later) I have now went back and played both, and while I did enjoy them I don’t hold the same reverence as others do for them, though I fully enjoyed all of the quests in Legacy, especially shattered legacy and the explorers guild guests. Though I still feel the effort into obtaining quests isn’t that enjoyable when compared to the excellent quests, which has made me very excited for Odyssey.

I have played the begining of this mod countless times. I had NO idea there was so much after Rkund, or there was even an overarching narrative. This current playthrough I am being hard on myself and NOT restarting. I'm going to see it all. Your videos are fantastic and I never get all the info in one watch. Thanks!

Also I played Moonpath once and didn't like it, so I've never had it integrated into Legacy like that. It was interesting to see the difference.

Something I've been doing to make my Legacy playthrough even better, is taking weapons/armor that have displays (even if unofficial), but are very easy to find, and moving them to specific dungeons and NPCs, so that it's more of a challenge.

i was also able to reforge the Amulet of Kings using the Vigilant mod. Just RP that my character goes to Tullius and Rikke, shows them the Amulet and then kicks the Thalmor out os Skyrim before going back to Cyrodil.

The perfect mod for someone who picks up every object they find

The backwards speaking from the glass Dwemer cases is from the librarian of the College of Winterhold. Why ancient display cases somehow have recorded audio from so far in the future is a mystery, but it could possibly tie into Sotha Sil's Clockwork City and how it was able to seemingly see the future by "dreaming." This is under the assumption that the city was inspired by or even built with Dwemer technology. Regardless, the Dwemer seemed to have somehow predicted the Dragonborn would find an Elder Scroll hidden within a Dwemer ruin, as well as the Eye and Staff of Magnus. And for some reason the display cases have the college librarian's voice recorded in them, seemingly recorded centuries before he even said the words or was even born. Maybe this was intentional, or maybe the mod team used the audio files just to be creepy backwards talking.

I don’t know if anyone’s said it, but the backwards dialogue you were confused about was lifted from a college of winterhold quest, specifically the orc librarian talking about a rogue student. Classic games would reuse dialogue with distortion to save space, some modern games do it more as a part of meta layer storytelling. Not sure what the goal is here, specifically.

The auto generated subtitles don't know how to handle the Dwemer ruin names. Alftand came out as "elephant" , KZfaq is having some trouble with figuring those words out haha. And as a New Zealander, seeing the subtitles say "The Maori artifact" when talking about Kagrenac's Left Testicle... peak comedy

I recommend starting by removing the wall of Solitude that lets you just jump out into the waters of the unloaded Skyrim wilderness.

The turning wheel, I think, is another name for a kalpa. The whole Dharmic wheel is a thing in Indian religions like Hinduism and Buddhism, which are religions that inspired a lot of the Elder Scrolls Lore, including kalpas. Which is one for one the same thing between both The Elder Scrolls and real Dharmic/Indian religions. Though I know very little about the subject, so take this with a grain of salt.

Regarding the artifacts being in the same place at the same time, if Akatosh created/is all about time and he created Alduin, all the dragons and then the destiny of the Dragonborn(s) it may very well be an influence over time itself that the Dragonborn holds, maybe in relation to the (spoiler alert btw) time rift up on the throat of the world we interact with being something we have the responsibility over as the Dragonborn, since in that flashback Alduin was yeeted across time, like Aang getting turned into a Popsicle, the Dragonborn bloodline died out (which is something that was mentioned as having happened by, like, Delphine or something) Anywayyy all this to say maybe this responsibility over time itself is influencing in putting these WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION into some responsible hands for once

The only negative i ve about this is that you need to backtrack a lot to display your stuff into the museum, it makes the game flow a bit stunned cause you are going to be fast teavelling back and forth to the museum to stash your collected artifacts, thankfully there is mod that fixes this with an item

Ngl i played this mod and after sometime i got bored collecting like my mind was divereted to just collecting 😅 These stuff. The Haunted musem and The Retrival Quest of stolen artifacts was my favorite part of it and the Safehouse plus mod. Is there any mod to reduce or remove the jade items, Cards, And other jewelry stuff from LOTD i don't like them and also displaying Guard hold armors,....these make my Mental Neurons Fire. I just want the CCC, Those cool New weapons, Some Books and Armors, claws and Masks that's it.
