What is Legacy? Legacy is for when a guide is no longer relevant, but is here to show everyone what the job used to be like. Rather than being rid of this guide, I am seeking to preserve history of both my own content and the content of FFXIV. The game is always evolving but that doesn't mean we should get rid of the past.
As a result, here is the Bard Job from Shadowbringers. Just keep in mind there is some other changes not listed here, such as small potency buffs.

I was so lost as I'm new to XIV and MMOs in general. Just reached bard yesterday. You explained everything so clearly without using jargon you didn't explain first. I watched three videos before yours and understood nothing because of it. Thank you!!!!!

@@WeskAlber someone on steam adviced me to watch this video when I asked for a bard guide for beginners. As most guides I found on the net are more for advanced players. Though I would have preferred a text guide rather than a video, easier to use as a reference especially because english is not my main language ^^

Great work! Many guides are good, but are too simple ("This is your weapon slot") or go the other way ("watch me do a level cap opener with no voiceover" or "here is a 2 page long sequence of icons to memorize"). You guide is in just the right zone for new and "new to a job" players to be excited about their job and how to start to appreciate and use it effectively. Looking forward to more.

Honestly I'm not against making a MUCH more basics guide. But that should be it's own guide. A BASIC BASICS should be just that, not with the "here's how to play a job" video. I am also considering a series on that level of a "1-50" kinda thing with some aux info going up to level cap. Pre-buy, early buy, mid-game, first level cap, and "beyond" videos at minimum.

This video is just what I was looking for! Clear, easy to follow, not too complex nor concerned with optimisation. When I learn a new job, I want to build up my skills and understand what I'm doing rather than just blindly follow a rotation guide. This helps me do that with no stress. Thank you!

This is actually the cleanest guide I’ve ever followed for any game I’ve ever played, thanks so much for this it really clarified a lot for me. Coming from playing a Boomkin in WoW which is essentially a DPS Support so picked up Archer/Bard since it fills a similar role and was a bit overwhelmed watching some of the other guides out there. Appreciate this so much.

WeskAlber you have saved me! I was doing ok with my rolls up until I became a Bard and started to unlock the songs. I then got overwhelmed really fast, not knowing or understanding what they did. THANK YOU! Best guide I have looked at by far.

There's a lot of information for each of these jobs, and I appreciate how you structure the information. I had bard at 50 and forgot what I knew, in addition to a lot of changes in the past 6 years. Some of the other videos have useful information, but just blast you with information so fast, and without examples that it's hard take it all in. Kudos to you mate!

Glad I found this, this makes so much sense the way you explained it. I was so lost on Bard’s songs and which to use when, to the point I basically just randomly cut them off with one another sometimes.

I'm a FFXIV vet and I come to watch your vids for new classes I will level due to the simple fact that you know don't miss details. I can level a job on my own just fine and put together openers and whatnot, though sometimes I still question myself on what would be better to fit in a rotation. You basically reinforce that I'm on the right track. You also catch a lot of nice details I sometimes overlook like that 40% BRD buff on songs for repertoire at level 64 not listed on amy tool tip, very nice man. Great vids. I only have Astrologian and Red Mage left after BRD, then I'm done till next expansion plus that sweet Amaro mount. Thanks for your hard work on these. I'll definitely recommend these when I see opportunities to do so.

I just got to lvl 35, did my Bard quest (i'm late, i know) and didn't understood when exactly i should use Mage's Ballad. Your explanation helped me a lot (especially rotation\opener), i'm going to come back here as i level up. Thanks!

I'm a new player of FFXIV, but I'm also a very heavy KZfaq user, and so when it comes to rating video quality I'm a pretty good authority. This video is insanely high quality. No 3 min of unnecessary, bullshit introductory, patreon/skillshare/squarespace plugging, just, pure, concise, thorough, but not over or under-explained information. Literally the best video of its kind I've ever seen. Well- fucking-done my man.

As much as I enjoying tanking as PLD in the front, I recently found that playing BRD as support is something I enjoy just as much. It feels satisfying to add in all those cool buffs for the party, supporting from the back. I've been looking for an optimal rotation for beginners and this is exactly what I needed. This is the best guide I've found so far. You sometimes forget to define abbreviations though, like "proc" or "ogcd" for example.

I intend to improve stuff like that in future. Proc is a hard one though since it's "special process." Which is even more confusing. "Proc" means activated by something. You have a 40% chance to proc your song, etc

Honestly Thank you, this guide really teaches me alot about bard, but when I encounter twintania min ilvl, no echo somehow I developed a new kind of opener for that raid itself. Still it's an eye "opener' to see some proper opener 😉.

Good stuff. Really helpful for newer players like myself. I have a better understanding of the class now. I noticed you did not really give any tips about dealing with solo adventuring, was focusing on dungeons done by design? Regardless, great video. Earned a sub and a thumbs up for sure.

Yeah just because all of the tips I give here apply to the overworld. Multiple enemies, multi dot. 3+ you get onto AoE spam. etc etc. If it applies to dungeons, it applies to solo. Plus aside from solo duties, overworld is kinda easy. You can basically always just 1v1 everything except quests that force you into the purple clouds. Even then they're usually not too threatening and following the rules I outlined will kill em easy TLDR: It applies to solo too
