The CAP 10 on the Browning FN magazine denotes a 10 round capacity, I believe. 10 rounds is the maximum allowed on a Canadian handgun.
@Ed-ig7fj3 ай бұрын
I was going to suggest this; you beat me to it. I have an early 1980s Hi-Power, and it is virtually identical to the one here. I have two 13-round mags, but in Maryland you may only buy the "cap 10." Stay strong! --Old Guy

In Canada, Lugers with the standard short barrel were prohibited but some owners were grandfathered with a 12.6 licence and they couldn't be sold unless it was to another 12.6 RPAL holder. Many Lugers were re barrelled to a slightly longer barrel to move them to a "normal" restricted classification that allowed them to be sold to people that possessed a restricted PAL which is what you need to possess a handgun in Canada. That was until Trudeau made all handguns worthless because you could no longer sell or transfer any handguns in Canada. For the time being we can still keep what we have but they are virtually worthless now.

Now this is my seventh attempt at writing and posting my response before some coward decides to delete it after 30 seconds, so I'm trying to post it here instead to see what happens (??) The majority of Canadians are Pro Legal Gun Ownership (This includes handguns). Canadian based First Nations People as part of their way of life depend on firearms to preserve their hunting and fishing rights, as well as hunters and trappers and farmers who need guns for pest control. Feral Hogs are crossing both sides of the Canada/USA Border, and these knarly wild pigs aren't stopping at Customs or Immigration. 🤔😃

You said that PPKs cannot be imported. Can't the exporter install 'target' grips to give it enough points to be importable? You could then install the original grips again after it arrives.

Question: I'm a Canadian, and I know the draconian gun laws which exist banning all future handgun ownership, but there is also a "Grandfather Clause" built into the new law allowing existing handgun owners to keep their weapons. However, those who have legal handgun ownership are also banned from selling their handguns to any third parties (Including gun Brokers, or Dealers), so how are you able to receive these Canadian owned Weapons ????????

They can still be sold to businesses with the proper license for export. Also can be sold to those wth ATC license.
@markjob63544 ай бұрын
@@henrykrinkle1576 Uhh, not sure about that ? As the Law is stated; You can own if pre-licensed, or you can turn in your gun to local police and receive a fee, but you can't sell your gun to (ANY) third party regardless of their licence. This is currently considered to be a "grey area," in our gun ownership legislation. There is a great deal of controversy over this current Canadian gun grab, and the Canadian firearms association thinks this law will be scrapped as soon as the Conservatives get back into power in Ottawa.

Part of the new Canadian Handgun legislation is that the handguns can be kept by their owners, but selling or giving them away is illegal. Even if Peter's export is totally legal, the owners can't sell or pass them on. It's all well and good that Canada's loss is US collectors gain, however I hope this is not going to come back on those former owners.

Incredible how a society continues to "vote" in the irresponsible and those lacking integrity or honour. Not only Canada but my hometown NYC is a perfect example. Since the frontal lobe matures about the age of 25, I always push for that to be the voting age which is backed up by one's observation of the behavior of the no life experience kiddies ...

Same here in Europe. Before 1934 gun licenses didn't even exist here in Sweden. I have met relatives who legally owned guns without a license back then. But no one protested when the licenses came or when the gun law became more and more infringing. Today it's almost as bad as Canada. You can still own a pistol but the procedure to get one is so complicated that most don't even try, and there is no right to carry, of course. And of course the criminals easily get guns anyway.
