I got caught speeding a couple of months back. Unmarked police car i overtook had to do 120mph to catch me up but they didnt actually clock a speed i was going. Ive entered my plea online and im awaiting the courts response. We need a whole video like this explaining the laws on speeding situations like mine where no actual speed was given but there is a claim i was doing over 100mph. Where do i stand?

@mickenoss
@mickenoss 3 жыл бұрын
Reguaring mods how picky are insurers? eg. I had to replace my exhaust because it was rusty, didn't want to use a genuine part so used an ebay one. Not talking about race cans ...although that's probably a good question too.

@@mickenoss bemoto are the best. You can mod as you please with them but should you make a claim they will only pay out for standard. So for exampke if you got a 3k exhaust system they are not gonna pay out for that

Jesus! That's so harsh.. I do feel like UK cops are grumpier than Swedish. I have been pulled over for doing a highway wheelie in sweden and was told that if you are in controll (empty road) it's not ilegal, (but was told to do it on the track). Glad I got it on video too..
@BigUriel
@BigUriel 3 жыл бұрын
In my experience most cops in the UK couldn't care less about bikes or dangerous driving. All they seem to do in regards to traffic the majority of the time is set up speed cameras. I bet most cases that go to court are because someone had a stick up their ass (like the horse riding ladies who just didn't like sharing their track with a motorcycle).

I’ve been through the wheelie punishment. Went from a cbr400rr to a zx10r. Gave it too much throttle off the lights, without realising behind me were undercover traffic police. Day in court, plus a chat with the traffic commissioner due to being a professional driver. Lost my hgv, car, bike licence, lost my job, lost my home as no income ended up back at my parents, extended retest and the highest insurance bills since I was 17. Keep the front down guys!

@gregorylagrange

@@niklas1723 after some of the laws I've seen in england, I'm not surprised. The land of making simply talking to a woman on the street is a potential harassment charge. Scooter gangs trying to bike jack people but you can't carry a bat or stick to protect yourself when you get attacked, so you have to carry a bike lock because they consider that something you'd ordinarily carry with you. Or, they recommend carrying dish washing liquid to try and squirt on the tires of who ever's trying to ride up on you so that it will make their tires slippery and you can get away. Not kidding about that.

No just being on a bike with a stroppy copper is enough to get you banned and fined for dangerous riding. wheelies just gets them extra browney points. Most people do not Drive as it is a commercial operation of a vehicle, hence the need for insurance and all the other stuff to do with Driving and commercial Law. Most people do not comprehend that travelling and driving are not the same thing and most people are hoodwink into "believing" that the generic terms apply to them when in fact they are lawful or legal terms bastardised into the English so as to confuse the masses for the purpose of profit.

The only wheelie I ever managed to pull was an accident; test riding a KTM SM990 with my girlfriend on the back. I took off from a set of traffic lights with a handful of throttle and the front wheel went sky high! Gave me a hell of a fright. We were lucky I didn’t flip the bike, as I wasn’t covering the rear brake to safely bring her back down to terra firms. So yeah, those unexpected wheelies can happen. I’d love to learn how to do wheelies properly, but with the draconian laws here in Australia, I hardly see the point, as I’ve never really enjoyed walking. 😪

The only wheeley I've ever done was in 1976 with a friend on the back leaving his house riding a Yamaha RD200. I opened it up in first gear, the front came up 45 degrees and stayed there as we went across the drive, a large lawn, and ended up in some Rhododendron bushes. I was 18 at the time, and my overriding thought as we careered uncontrollably along was 'what's my dad going to say' . Fortunately, both us and the bike survived unscathed.

I've done wheelie school on an airfield and I highly recommend it Before learning the skills my front end went up a couple of times unexpectedly so I viewed wheelie school as a vital piece of safety training I've only ever used this training on a road once which was to prevent a tank slapper developing from a wobbly front end Obviously I'm 100% behind the never wheelie on public roads message, but theres a tiny percentage of the time when having the skills in your toolbox can enhance your safety as a rider Also learning to wheelie on a runway in a safe, controlled environment is great fun and should take away any desire you have to practice on public roads Ironically the only hazard to befall me on that day was running over a stray spike from a stinger, apparently traffic police use the same airstrip for their HO.S.TY.D.S training and are somewhat negligent in the clean up afterwards

A wheelie story: Back in the day...out for an evening ride with some friends. everyone was learning to hoist the front wheel. We end up on the front row waiting for the red light to change. Light changes, I run out first gear a little and clutch up a wheelie, best one to date, holding it at about 10 o'clock and ripping down a 4 lane avenue in town. A cop passes by in opposite direction, and I'm like, oh shite, I drop the front wheel look in the mirror and the blue lights are flashing and he's turning around. I thought about running as there was a familiar highway entrance down the road. But there was just to much congestion to reasonably safely go in to a "drop the hammer" all out escape mode. So instead, I slowed down pulled into the right lane and wait for him to catch up. He did, I explained that the clutch slipped and front launched skyward. I think he knew I was full of shite, but appreciated that I did not run and make everybody's live complicated. So, he writes me up for failing to exercise due care, the lesser offence. We complete our business and as I continue on my way I pass a donut shop about a 1/2 mile down the road and there are literally a dozen cop cars in the parking lot. I thought holy crap, if I had run and the cop got on the radio, all of these guys would have been after me, damn. So, a few weeks later I go to court at 9am and there are already like 50 people on line, before the doors even open. The court opens and they start processing people, by 10 o'clock there's like 300 freakin' people in there and the ADA is up front previewing cases and cutting deals with everybody to expedite the proceedings. He calls my docket number and he looks at the ticket, "failing to drive with due care, I rarely see this charge, what happened" I give him my BS story of the clutch slipping. He says OK. here's what we'll do, you plead guilty to not wearing a seatbelt and I'll recommend 2 points on your license and $50 fine plus court fees (which was like another $25). Stupid me says to him, that makes no sense, I was riding a motorcycle. He then bows his head pulls down his glass to the front of his nose and repeats the recommendation, then glances away, looks back at me and says, so...what do you think. I pause for a moment and then the light goes on, ah..OK, thank you sir. So officially, I have a failure to use a seatbelt charge while riding a motorcycle on my record! And everybody's happy...

Been done for a wheelie earlier this year...The copper caught up to me, then we waited for his boss, superintendent or whatever, which approach me and said - 'Now you gonna tell us either of the two things - That you were either showing off in front of another biker, in which case you shouldn't be doing this in the public place, or else you lost control of the vehicle in which case you shouldn't be riding a powerful bike like this' and I replied: losing the license) I asked for some 'leniency' for which he raised his voice saying...There is no way you deserve any leniency, if anything I should send your case to the court and they would've dealt with you a lot harsher... I accepted the ticket and in the end I still received the driver awareness course so no points. Consider myself lucky and a lot more careful now haha!

I also got lucky last year stopped on the A34 late at night in middle of summer. Had been averaging 115 not realising a plain BMW car had been following me for a couple of miles video recording the whole thing. Tbf I had been riding sensibly...indicating, not tail gating etc. Stopped me in the services just before M40 and gave me a massive bollocking for 20 minutes then let me off. Instant ban if he'd wanted to...so lucky.

Had a similar experience wasent far from home a storm from hell was about to erupt got a bit of a wriggle on overtook an unmarked car, started to rain but I was over the limit he was right behind me. A mate of mine was killed on an Exup on the same stretch a few years previous it was greasy so I eased off thinking it was just some guy wanting a race so i pulled into a layby he pulled up next to me pushed the passenger door open as he was on his own and the first thing he said was,,,,, I hate motorcycle's is that your normal mode of riding? Fuck my heart sank I thought defenate ban, he gave me a 20 minute ear bashing and some of the things he said really hit home.Top bloke just cautioned me have to admit he was right I was wrong thank God it rained otherwise I would have had it pinned I think my young freind was looking down on me RIP Kev taken way to soon ❤

Great video. I'd love to learn how to wheelie, in a safe environment. But I've never had a reason to learn because I know that I'd likely end up doing it on the public roads, and I thought it was an instant ban, no matter how small the wheelie. "Rogered" 😅😆😂

Been done twice in Australia for wheelies. 3 points and $405 later. Apparently I wasn't in "full control of the vehicle ". I begged to differ as it took skill to pull large wheelies

you dont lose 80% of your forward vision if your at 12 o clock because you can look under the bars! also what if someone can slow down the wheelie with the rear brake? then your in full control haha

This is one occasion where I'm glad I live in the states. I recently bought a new (to me) RSV4 Factory and got full coverage insurance without any inspection or even a PHOTOGRAPH!!! I literally could have bought a crashed bike, insured it and then made a claim. Luckily for them I'm honest and bike is perfect.

A guy in Perth Australia a few years back now, ended up in the local newspaper on the back wheel after photo being taking ... their catch him because of his tattoos on his arms ... someone dobed (grassed) him in. And I drove straight passed a marked Police land Cruiser, City Police (UK) on the back wheel. Dropped it at the lights. Then I looked over to my left and I saw the words POLICE written on the side. The copper said “get over”. Pulled over, helmet off, assumed the sorry head down puppy look. One cop radioed my plate in, while the other cop spoke to me. He said “I can see you can control the bike, but, you are fucking kidding me going passed a Police car on the back wheel” I was going to say “I thought you were a Ambulance” but I thought not, to say that and just kept silence. Then he saw my logo on my shirt. “You work for Daytona Motorcycles” yes I replied. He then stopped the cop from the plate check and said to the that cop I know him 😳 to my surprise, I didn’t. He said “look, I have used you guys before, and you have always looked after me, I will let you go, but, keep your bloody wheels on the ground and you owe me one” it took about 2 months before he came into the shop before I returned the favour with clothing at cost...Thank you kind Police Officer, obviously a biker himself 👍🏽 👮‍♀️

In the Netherlands the policy is afaik pretty much the same. Wheely = dangerous driving = chance on revoked license for at least 10 days ( = large fine + expensive awareness course) Especially if you have prior mistakes.

I am in the US. I have an ST1300. I was leaving work one morning after a 12hr shift. My fuel tank was nearly bone dry. In the parking lot I went over a speed bump and the next thing I was pulling a proper wheelie. No intention. Could have got a safety violation from work. But it was hilarious. Worst case it is technically on private property so no ticket I would think.
