In Part1 of this video on Legal and illegal car modifications in India. We discussed about the law put forth by the Super court of India in 2019 about modification in India.
We also discussed various modifications which are Highly illegal and can get you into serious trouble

In this video I will tell you some tasteful mods that can be done to your cars without coming under ther radar.
All the mods which will be listed in the video if done tastefully without going too far with your creativity. There will be little to no problem from cops
No.1 Body wraps
Body wraps have become quite a trend in the Indian market. There are many garages and car shops that can install various types of vinyl wraps that look extremely good on the car. Body wraps can completely change the way a car looks and it can be applied to the complete vehicle or on certain parts like pillars, roof, bonnet etc endorsed on the Registration Certificate of the car by visiting the local RTO. Wrapping your car in extreme graffiti designs can cause you problems
No.2 Tyre upsizing
One of the most common upgrades in India on a new car is the wheels. Many people go for a larger tyre and aftermarket alloy wheels to give a better stance to the vehicle and make it more noticeable on the road. Upsizing tyres and upgrading to aftermarket alloy wheels are not illegal. However, if you install truck tyres or very large tyres that affect the handling adversely, it can cause certain problems and the car may get seized too
For instance if you have the lowest model of the 3rd gen swift which is equipped with 14 inch rims with 165/80 tires wrapped around it and you want to upgrade it to custom alloy wheels or mag wheel without the risk of getting caught. You can legally upgrade your Rims and tires to 15 inch rims with 185/65 tires wrapped around it because these are specified by the manufacturer.
The trick over here is You can play around with the Rim and tire sizes which have been specified by the manufacturer and used on higher models.
Incase you get caught you can justify the modification as it is specified by the manufacturer
No3 body kits
While a few body kits completely change the way a car look, others make the car look very aggressive. Most of the body kits are bolt-on and are completely legal. If the body kit does not change the structure (or chassis) of the vehicle, it is legal and can be used without any problems. In recent times, even car manufacturers have started offering body kits at their dealerships.
Tasteful cosmetic mods are legal
No 4 Suspension
The suspension of cars can be replaced with high-performance aftermarket ones for a much better ride quality without any problems. However, changing the ground clearance by a big margin can get your car seized. A difference of a few millimetres from the stock suspension set-up is not illegal at all. Car owners can even use strut braces or suspension pads to easily stiffen their rides
No.5 Performance remaps
Performance remaps are too an extent legal and should be done by a certificate professional. These remaps ticker a

Changing Non alloy wheels to alloy wheels is legal unless and until the standard size given by the manufacturer is kept the same Eg: If your car has 15inch non alloy wheels you can install alloy wheels legally of 15inch. If I have a Honda Accord 3L V6 and I put a bigger air intake and have a performance exhaust with somewhat an inch bigger than the stock tyres and a spoiler and different led lights. Is that legal? And what types of exhaust are legal and which are not? Would I have to have done a PUC with my new exhaust as carbon emissions may alter after that?

Thanks for watching Hritikz! Well you can install lot of things but whatever you install make sure it's not too much. I understand it is really difficult to control the urge to make you car look awesome. But going over the top crazy will cause you trouble. Eg: Simple body kits like Civic type R kit on a normal cycle is perfectly legal. Body wrap- Simple one colour body wraps which do not differ from colour mentioned in Rc book is legal. Spoilers - Yes you can but do not install massive ones. Alloys - Yes definitely first mod I did on my car were the Alloys unless and until they fir properly without coming to far outside of the fender they are legal. Exhaust - Go for valvetronic or Borla cat back exhaust. Led lights- Definitely legal just don't go too jazzy on it. Seats - No one can see it if you want install sparco. Air suspension- Go ahead! Thanks for watching! Yes it is technically legal. But sometimes cops don't understand that you have vinyl wrapped and not changed the colour. You can't bro! Unless someone actually builds a Lamborghini replica from scratch. Like the engine and chassis patents should be held by that company. Usually in Indian market modified civics and accords are turned into lambo replicas. These are illegal.

@@shubhaydbuilds this is a wrong info you have about fwd cars with spoilers. Spoilers creates downforce for cars whether its a fwd or a rwd but only if it touches a certain speed otherwise its a useless shitty load (many ricers in india installs) if the car couldn't catch up to that speed. The fact is that all rwd whether its a FR or MR are heavy at the back also because of the rear frame since it has a differential and a drive shaft but a FWD is a front engine and front wheel drive which means that the rear is too light than the front as only the front wheels put power to the ground. Therefore high hp FWD cars require a rear spoiler to keep the rear of the planted to the ground
