What range should I usually launch the mavericks? 10-8km depending on airspeed?

@@yourlocalboaty yeah I still sometimes feel the AGM barely reaches. Even when I launch it around mach. Maybe it's because it's so slow and when looking at it with U it looks like it barely moves and falls out the air. It honestly is my first time using these AGMs but I like them (using them on F5 FCU at 11.0) even tho my plane is faster than them. They are still inconsistent with their damage tho. I had it happen that I shot at a Leo 1 and it crit him but killed the Abrams next to him with splash damage.

@@yourlocalboaty and then when I don't get at least a hit I question if the range was to far but seems that wasn't the case. Maybe they just combusted because a small bush was in front of the enemy or they where intercepted as they are easy to intercept.

@@touchgrass7834 When doing SEAD you can fire from long range because most AA is stationary all the time, when you are attacking moving target, you should be closer to have a good chance of hitting, preferably from the rear of their direction of movement. So, if you are high with speed, you can engage AA from like 12km, moving targets you should be around 6km or closer. Stationary tanks you can engage in the 10-8km range as the missile will likely get withing the 8km lock range before they start moving again.

i got the problem with them stingers and strellas, they got ridiculous lock range and once its out thats it, no amount of flaring helps haha, specially cannot evade with that whale, however agm65d lock its pretty good in the case you manage to spot anything

Stingers can be easily defeated by flaring and changing direction, Strellas are much harder but start turning when you are about 6km from the center of the map the IR guys will stop spamming when all their missiles fail, then you can get closer before they fire on sub sequent runs. Strellas are most easily defeated by not flying directly towards enemy lines but instead surprising them with flank attacks from low altitude, so they are late to react, if you don't have mavericks. Learning to discern a bruning hot spot from a live target, takes a bit but you get used to it, they are a smidge cooler, read darker, the live ones.
