This performance is from the 10th anniversary concert of LES MISERABLES in 1995 and they were referred to as the Dream Cast. They used people who had been in different productions of LES MIZ all around the world. Lea was the first Asian/non-white actress to play this part on Broadway (in 1993). Lea is 24 years old here (this was about 7 years after her audition for MISS SAIGON that you reacted to previously). Many people consider this the gold standard performance of this song. I really hope you react to more of Lea's performances. Just a couple to start with: Lea and Michael Ball singing "A Little Fall of Rain" (also from this 10th anniversary LES MIZ concert), Lea and Rachelle Ann Go singing "Movie in My Mind" at the MISS SAIGON 25th anniversary concert, and Lea singing "I Dreamed a Dream" at the 25th anniversary concert for LES MISERABLES. (Fun fact: I think Lea was only one of two people who took part in both the 10th and 25th anniversary concerts of LES MIZ but she was the only one to play two different roles.)
