Legendary Drummer of Deep Purple reviews Yoyoka's latest cover "Burn"

Yoyoka 11 year old drummer from Japan, outdoes herself again. This young lady comes from a family of musicians, who have taught her well. In this piece the legendary drummer from Deep Purple Ian Paice reviews her cover of Deep Purple's famous Song Burn. Featuring Ritchie Blackmore on guitar.

I can't believe her drive and energy - she is relentless! There is no tension in her hands or arms. She is totally relaxed. She is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the drum world!

Ian, you said something right there that really makes sense “she’s having fun. ” When I played drums or guitar I took it so seriously to the point where I became stressed. It shouldn’t be that way, should be enjoyable.❤

Kids like Yoyoka are why I bother to get out of bed in the morning. Her joy, talent and appreciation for such a great drum piece is ecstatic. If I were Ian, I'd write her into my last Will & Testament. 😄 This made my day/week/month.

Hy Sir Paice. The first record I could by, was Deep Purple in Rock. Still have it since1973. Thank you to making so many of us to turn to hard Rock.!!!

You should have seen Robert Plants reaction he wanted to hire her.... Her cover of Led Zeppelin's Good Times bad times got millions of views. When she was just 7 or 8 years old.

Deep purple was my first rock concert on the Strombringer tour. I had that album and a recording of Made in Japan on reel to reel and I replicated the Mule at Jr High talent show on a 6 pc set of Rogers I borrowed. i used all my drum corps rudiments and had a great time.

Yoyoka made the old saing be very true "Imitating/copying someone is the ultimate form of flattery. She must have flattered the hell out of Ian he was smiling completely & not one negative against Yoyoka whether in word nor in facial expression. She kicks butt through and through. I can only imagine a great drummer that has patience and alive if they took Yoyoka under their wing. Holy crap! Example would be Dave Grohl, Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland etc....

I have heard so many bands covering Burn and the drummers have always fouled up the drum part because they simply can’t match Ian’s swing feel. He is by far my favourite rock drummer and truly one of a kind. This is a great effort and all the miserable critics need to lighten up a bit🤘🏻

The only thing I can hear that isn't quite right, is she's playing a few too many double b/d beats instead of singles in the beginning. But she's amazing!!
